    post your 2010 rides!

i only have one ride on the driver 8, so far. i'm about to take it out for it's second ride, today. but from the first ride, i felt right at home on the beast. my previous bike was a second generation V10. and i also have a last generation iron horse 7 point (with the straight top tube)...

What OLDER DH/FR videos inspired you?

Ride to the Hills is my favorite, also. I have a digitized copy of it on my computer. Best music of any bike video, too. Timeless classic.

    DH Wheel Building

i actually stand on the spokes, when i pre-stress my DH wheels. i put the wheel on the ground and gently walk all the way around, stepping on each spoke, after i begin to tension the wheel. sounds silly, i know, but this has added great longevity to my DH wheels. i figure it can't be worse...

Missy Giove visited my home town today....

Consuming weed is somewhat similar to drinking. You can take just a little rip, and it will have the effect of drinking a beer or two. It is a mistake to assume that marijuana can not be moderated by the user. If I want to take the edge off a long, productive day of work, I might do both...

Missy Giove visited my home town today....

actually, in the 80's, under reagan, the U.S. illegally crop dusted marijuana crops in third world countries, effectively killing the supply in central america (not to mention cancer and birth defects from ground water contamination, but that's beside the point). this created a void in the...

    New FSA Derailleur

i agree, the self correcting auto-tension is a cool idea. however, with the rack and pinion gears in there, i wonder if the derailleur is free to move inward, in case it gets smacked by a rock. otherwise, one solid hit from a rock, and all those gears are done.:fie:

Rennie taking some time out of the season?

Knee injuries can take a looong time and have quite a negative effect on one's confidence and outlook. Maybe his knee effected his health and mental state to the point where it is detrimental to his WC racing performance. It would be better to take time off and recover properly. Sometimes...

Missy Giove visited my home town today....

if missy was selling crack, i might agree with some of the sentiment on this thread, but marijuana??? c'mon people, stop being so ignorant. it is much less harmful or addictive than cigarettes or alcohol. weed should be legal, and sold at the grocery store for $1.89/lb right next to the...

New Thin Flat Pedals from the Bro's

they look pretty sweet. i wonder if the bottom of your shoe would rub on the axle and cause drag? so, these are using bushings instead of RC car bearings?

Wacky pivot placement from the french

well, the one nice thing, is you could run it single speed with no chain tensioner. looks like it would be a good DJ bike with the single speed option....it's not like you need the latest in suspension technology for DJ'ing, just a little cushion.

    Carbon knuckle glove recommendations

i tried the da kine carbon knuckle gloves. they were OK. they didn't last long, and the fingers are designed for sausages....to stubby for my hand. after those gloves, i bought some of the new specialized fortress gloves. this gloves fit my hands far better than the da kine. much more...
