I used to see him from time to time at the local BMX track, watching his son riding. I didn't see him for a couple of year.
Aurelien Giordanengo is a former BMX racer who came to DH in 2005 and his results were good enough after only a couple of french cups to be selected in the junior french team for the Euro and then for the Worlds in Livigno. Not bad for a first year of downhill racing !
According to what he said in the french mags, we will only race selected world cups. The one he mentionned are Vigo, Schladming and Maribor, because the dates are not in conflict with his rallye calandar. He doesn't plan to race at the worlds.
He also said that he can change is mind if he feels...
Florent Payet is a french rider from the Reunion Island who rides for FMF (french Yeti distributor). He is very fast .. (2nd junior at the Worlds in les Gets in 2004). Usualy he rides with a Fly race kit (MX style gears).
The french federation sometime help some young riders to go on the world...
semi-retired, actually. Anne-Caro won the Avalanche Cup in Lyon (France) the week before Vigo.
but that's right we (probably) won't see her anymore on the WC circus.

Until livigno, he always refused to wear it.
I confirm, his rear wheel slid out on the mud just before the bridge. It was dry everywhere except this small 1m square section just after the last turn before the bridge which was still a little bit muddy .. His crash was impressive, he hit the bridge at full speed.

I'm facing the same issue : I'm 174cm (5'8.5", I think) and I have to choose between waiting many weeks (many months ?) for a medium, or getting a small pretty quickly. Not sure what to do ..
