club is still very active. We are in the process of building a dual slalom course right now for the colegiate ds, dh, and xc races over labor day weekend. Google VT freeride club and you will find the website and can get put on the e-mail list serve from there. I'll pm u my #, give me a call...
after 3 years of heavy riding at snowshoe my demo 9 has a bunch of scratches, but no dents that i can see (through the mud from shuttles last weekend). i do however have some nice dents in my shins from my comp 16s throwing up everything in their path!
what bike, how much rear travel, and how much is it compressing?
also going from a 500 lb spring to a 400 lb spring is a pretty big decrease if the 500 was workin. Raising the SPV pressure just makes the bike pedal better, it shouldn't add preload to the shock.
i rode an arrow DHX on the back of my bighit for a summer. I bombed through too many rock gardens w/ a flat tire to even count, and I never had to true the wheel.
cool thanks for the info guys. It seems like im right around the max weight for a 400 spring and the min for 450, but im thinking that the issues w/ cornering were more a function of the bike being a little undersprung for my weight and style. Im gonna switch the geo back to slack, and dial in...
Thanks for the info. part of the issue i was having w/ the lighter spring in the slack setting was the bike felt sluggish in tight turns, and felt as though it was getting to far into the rear travel, and i consequently wasn't keeping enough weight over the front. I think ill try leaving the...
I have been riding a demo 9 for the past 3 years. My bike came w/ a 400 pound spring, with the frame set in the low/slack setting. what are you guys that are racing a demo 9 running in terms of geo and springs? i found that the slack setting was a little too slack for me, so i set my frame to...

i think that bluefield is right off of 460 in wva, if so you aren't too far from blacksburg. we have some killer cross country trails at pandapas pond in Jefferson national forest. we also do shuttle runs couple times a month. The vt freeride club has some sick dirt jumps at their house, pm me...
yeah, honestly i love snowshoe because of the gnar factor. lots of rocks, roots, tech trails like hairball, mud is always complicating things, and the basin is crazy fun for short runs after a long day of the western territory. i like powerline and all, but i can jump my bike at the local...
you gonna be riding that beauty at Snowshoe? that bike is amazing, i love demos, and that one take the cake for best looking, seems like a really good build too.
