Need a new helmet, do ANY less than $100 fit?

Keep looking. There are plenty of $100+ models that a painful for me. Many cheaper ones that fit great. Some less expensive Bell and Giro models are former high end helmets.

    The headaches of choosing TYRES

Maxxis has stopped listing the durometer numbers for the rubber. The single compound is likely 70a.

    Origin8 BlackOps Fork: 29er wheel in a 26er fork?

400mm A-C seems very short for a 26" mtb fork. That is more of a cyclocross length. The shortest A-C I have fit a 29x2.1 tire is ~420mm. Barely cleared the steel unicrown.

Helmet go crash, whack, crack! Q - Poc Trabec?

Yup, I was able to try it on at interbike. Have yet to see one locally in a shop. HucknRoll had them the last time I looked. They are pretty good about returns.

Helmet go crash, whack, crack! Q - Poc Trabec?

I love my Trabec, though it does leave a POC mark on my forehead. I does fit my head almost perfectly. As always, you need to try it on. The Hex does not fit me very well.

    Prototype On-One Adventure Bike

This is a bike I want to, and do, ride. It is not a big hit bike and never intended as such. There is far more to cycling than just downhilling. There are and will be other On-One models for that. This is more the rally car than the Baja truck. I have never used a 18mm tire if any sort, let...

    Prototype On-One Adventure Bike

    Tubeless and Pro XC racing

I use about the same pressure with tubes or tubeless. If the tubeless is tubeless ready or DIY "converted" (I rarely do the latter) I usually need to run HIGHER pressure to prevent squirm in the corners.

    Tubeless and Pro XC racing

I have seen riders pinch flat "converted" tires. They cut clear through the casing rather than just the inner tube.

    26, or 29? I ride....

Depends more on the specific model of bike than the wheel size.

Tubular cement is not contact cement. The former stays a bit tacky.

    bike computer on a 29er

Not at all. Every (non GPS) computer needs to be set to the wheel/tire size of the bicycle. Most can be calibrated for diameters from 12 to 39 inches.
