i really prefer having less dish. and the longevity of my current rear is a testament to the benefits. Plus with the better designs you get wider flange spacing, a significant factor in lateral wheel stiffness. Some people think that makes no difference, but land hard off axis and well...

I could see 120 for the pair at a shop with unfriendly mark-up. Deraileur hangers are like 20-30 bucks. I'm sure the price the cowan drops are supposed to be sold at is like 60-80.
don't listen to the guys saying dump your headset because it's a **** model. My pig serves me well. interestingly though, i had the same problem as you when my bike was first built up. But i had a good excuse; i had no starnut or topcap.

Don't get ahead of yourself there chimp. It's still a time consuming process building stuff up around one of these. That, and if it's lighter it won't be much cheaper. It's going to take a real amount of time before this stuff gets 'commercial'.

btw, those mavics are only similar because the spoke goes through radially. that isn't really equivalent. Shimano did a much closer design a while back.
