Banshee seat post is lighter than the Thomson Elite, but not quite as light as the Thomson Masterpiece. Either way the weight savings there are minimal compared to DH tubes and tire options.
You didn't get warranty because you were not original owner I believe, but you got crash replacement even tho you were second hand owner... correct me if I am wrong.
And original MkI owners were sold the frame at costs knowing they got 1 year cover for it, and everyone who has asked for...
Next production run is almost finished already... alxes need a bit more testing. We don't believe in releasing products without real world testing even if all computer and machine testing says they will be fine. this will probably be a running change mid next year... depends how testing goes.
in the future there will be Banshee custom titanium axles as standard with legend and scythe frames... and also avaliable after market to fit any maxle compatible frame. Early protos suggest a weight saving of about 10g over maxle light, and they will be about 8 times stronger and no taper in...
As a second hand banshee owner you are entitled to crash replacement on the chainstay correct? (this is just like paying cost (nobody makes any money on it). Not many companies will offer that to second hand owners... (Arron Laroque is not a Banshee employee, he is a freelance media guy).
MkI...
Wildcard frame is
(medium raw with clearcoat, Ano is about 0.2lbs lighter)
He has quoted the weight without tires... so that is going to be about 2-2.5lbs right there. Still a really light build...nice!
You should rotate the shock around so that the reservior is still at the top, but between the shock and the seat tube. This is how it is meant to be positioned when in 5" travel mode as you have it.
I've ridden all day rides on my wildcard just fine. Sure it is not perfect, but I had no trouble keeping up with other all mountain bike riders. (sure XC bikes will always be faster uphill, but they are sketchy when going down and flex like crazy). The wildcard will do everything from trail...
The rampant has a much lower leverage ratio than banshee's of old... infact the whole range does. You shouldn't be at all worried about blowing through travel on the rampant, it ramps up really quickly.
Thanks,
We figured that it was worth investing heavily in R&D to try out best to get things right first time, especially for the legend frame, as there were quite a few things that have to be worked out as the design is a bit...different. Also, I plan to use some of what I have learnt and use...
haha, I just check all the forums and everyday to take in feedback that people have about my bikes so I can take it on board and potentially apply it when doing redesigns. It pays to stay in the loop. Also we have a tool on our blog and website that means we can track where hits are coming from...
There were good reasons for the delays (nothing to do with bike) but the extra testing time has all been made the most off... it will be worth the wait!
