Up for sale are a Yeti Downhill bike, Gary Fisher Hi-Fi frame, Planet X Zebdi frame, and a Brodie hardtail, and a couple spare parts.

Of course they will have classes, based on gender, age & ability (beg., sport, Ex/Pro). There is also a SS class this year as I said, and usually a Clydesdale class. Usually it's a brutal 5 mile lap (Ex/Pro did 4 last last year, 1 or 2 for beginner and 2 or 3 for Sport). Don't ask me to...
I could have sworn I saw a thread asking about this race yesterday. At any rate, the scheduled date this year is 4/15. There will be a Single Speed class this year, but no trials or DH or anything. There should be adds in BRO and Dirt Rag, and fliers are coming out at local shops soon.
April 6th was last year, unless they plan on having the race on a Thursday. The class you enter (Beginner, Sport, or Expert) will determine how many loops you do. Expert/Pro was 3 laps last year IIRC, and 15 miles at O'hill is nothing to scoff at. If you know the trails well, that topo map...
I don't think the date has been nailed down yet, and usually it's not finalized until after Christmas break and the course usually isn't finalized until a couple days before the race, if that. Don't be concerned about it though, everyone has a good time and it's a very laid back event.
The...
Check out the other thread and check out www.cambc.org. Most of the CAMBC members are XC riders, but they are the people who can help you get approval to build at Walnut Creek.
I'm glad to see a thought out reply, thanks wood-dog. I know those stunts at O'hill have been there for years now, and occassionally some local kids will maintain them a little, which I think has been accepted as being fine. I know I hit that little trail by the wind tunnel every time I'm up...
Took some time off the DH bike, trained and road the 100 miler, bought a motorcycle, fished some, broke my collarbone (not on the mc), got really tired of RM....
You know, the usual. I bet I'll have the urge back after the winter. Maybe EP a new bike, that always makes you want to ride!
I'll be there, either just drinking, or drinking and riding. Haven't decided yet.
As said before, it's a great local event. There are a lot of bike-minded folks there just hanging out and having a good time.
Good news! Santa Cruz was contacted and with the serial number they gave us the shop who bought it, the shop was contacted and they got in touch with the owner. I believe the owner is coming to pick it up.
My buddy is a shop manager and just got an '06 Talas RLC 32 and it has the 3mm click knob. I'm confident it's the '06 b/c when he tried to EP it they said they were out of stock of the '05's.
Are the decals the same in the new catalog as the '05?
After talking about this with some other locals, it's obvious it was stolen.
I was thinking we (the shop) should call the cops just to get it on a police report, and tell the folks who dropped it off about the report when/if they come back to pick it up. I bet this will scare them enough...
I think you should either buy some take-offs for cheap (probably about $100) or buy an old used brake for the parts and do it yourself. A lot of times folks sell brakes that have good MC's but broken levers or torn lines, and just don't want to fix them.
Bribe a friend to help you do the bleed.
There are freeriders/downhillers, or whatever you want to call it, in C'ville. There just isn't any organization that brings them together. The mountain bike club, which I don't think is very active these days, is geared toward XC/trailrding and there isn't a Freeride Club like at VT.
My...
Try searching this topic as it's been brought up a few times. Basically, there's not much; a few urban drops to flat here and there, but that gets old really quick. There are a few ladders and jumps up at O'hill, and the skate park downtown (which has been off and on whether mtn bikes are...
And you only need 3 springs (IIRC), you don't have to fill all those holes. I think going to your local hardware store and finding similar springs and cutting them down is the way to go. Good luck, I've never had a problem w/ mine!
