Nitrogen is not a liquid when in a shock, it is a gas (it is only liquid at -320 degrees F or at an outrageously high pressure) Maybe there is a completely novel dampening system for using a gas (ie. air or nitrogen) instead of a liquid (ie. oil), but unless there is, the nitrogen is only used...
I must be missunderstanding you, because it seems there are only 2 things that DO matter concerning braking power: speed and mass. At the same speed, a more MASSive body will need more power to stop.
at any rate, I'm stoked they are coming out with a lighter version.
Are they going to try to patent aluminum, titanium, magnesium, steel, stainless-steel, and wood as well?? There has to be someone somewhere who has used some sort of fiber reinforcement for a gear enclosure (prior art)?
What about BCDs original gear box?
What some people try to call "IP"...
Cool example, thanks.
Just a quick math question...you said the extending chain force with the larger cog is 22x that of the insignificant smaller cog extending chain force. 195.2N is not 22x greater than 30.3N. 19.5mm is, however, roughly 22x 0.87mm; maybe you were refering to this...
Huh? I know it's all a matter of personal preference, but Anderson not fun? Maybe not on a fully rigid, or if you just dont like that sort of thing, but I'm hard pressed to think of another trail in SD that, when ridden in the gravity-assist direction, offers the uncontrollable-grin...
Hey San Diego riders-:help:
I'm off to Whistler Wednesday and I need a 2.75"stroke 550# spring for FOX Vanilla or DHX shock. I don't have time to order one so if anyone has one they could lend/rent/sell me I'd be very grateful!
John
(not sure why I typed 8.75)
The nickle plating does look sick. Even after a year of riding the first ones are still shiny. They were not machined any different that the ano so they did not effect the bearing seating much, but then I don't know what tolerances your plates were made to.
Kidwoo - as you know, they aren't...
I'm replacing my old rear triangle with a new one. The old one is fine except for a dent in one of the chainstays (or was it the seatstay?). I was going to keep it as backup, but if you want it for mods I might sell it "cheap".
Hey, can you keep the BB from losening up on your Sweet Wings? I've tried a number of things including loctite and different bolts but had to put another set of cranks on as they would never stay tight through an entire ride.
I thought there has been rumors a while back that SC was designing a bike in the 6 inch travel range, possibly a sort of all-mountain bike. Maybe that is what is being unveiled. I know Intense is doing a 6.6" VP design.
