    New GG Bike Reveal Poll

True, but that's just one aspect of a bike. One that matters, but still just one. I actually think this is some of the coolest stuff I've seen in a long time, the way they've gone about this project is brilliant. And since they already have the modular seatstay program going on, if they wanted...

    Fox Grip 2

Dougal is a proponent of digressive curves because he likes a firm LS feel. JohnnyC7 likes linear curves with more big-hit support and more openness on small stuff. That's basically what they disagree on there. I'm inclined to agree with the latter.

    Rockshox Yari/Lyrik Coil Conversion

Well we decided to call it the Smashpot, based on the words smash and dashpot, and when we were calculating prices it came out that they'd need to be about $425CAD to be worthwhile. At that point, given the recent legalization of weed in Canada and the fact that it's guaranteed* to get you laid...

    Trust me...

It's actually more rearwards on average - for trail to remain more consistent as the fork dives (by dives, i mean fork compression when the rear end isn't also compressing, may even be extending) then the axle has to be moving backwards relative to the steering axis. Whatever issues they may be...

    Pole Bikes hates Ridemonkey

If that's all you care about, that's fine. Mostly not what people are buying bikes for though - most of our customers for example complain more about things like "it's harsh" not "I'm not fast enough on this". If your modeling, simulation or lab testing isn't useful in some way it's because...

    Pole Bikes hates Ridemonkey

Yes and no, since that's pretty subjective in itself. Unless you're talking about timing it, but even then different riders do better/worse on different bikes. For sure, I am not advocating that people should try to simply calculate "ideal" geometry and then claim that's the be all end all...

    Pole Bikes hates Ridemonkey

Ah Leo may be a bit annoyed that I singled his bike out for something approaching criticism :) he put a lot of work into that bike and hearing anyone criticise your work is never fun, especially when that same criticism isn't really being leveled at others in the same boat. But yes I agree with...

You could have just called, now I feel left out.

Now Avalanche has a coil conversion kit

Cutting a spring in half also halves its available travel (actually less than half, since you have to now have two lots of closed/ground inactive ends), so for a given max travel & combined rate two springs are invariably heavier than one in that regard, which is why all the major manufacturers...

    Fixing Lyric RC Shim Stack

The Luftkappe is compatible with all travel versions of the Pike, Lyrik and Yari. At 180mm in the Lyrik it's pretty progressive, 170 is no problem though (some people are running additional tokens at 170mm to increase the ramp as well, so it's not like you can't use full travel). The Yari is a...

    Fox x2 new shocks

There may be some differences that aren't shown in that video, as I haven't pulled apart an X2 shock yet, but if those animations are accurate, the Fox system is pretty well identical to the Cane Creek system - the CCDBs have those same shim-faced poppet valves.

When rear shocks stop working correctly

This is pretty likely. Check the pressure in the reservoir and make sure it's up over 100psi (I think they claimed you could run 50psi or 75psi or something absurd like that, but it doesn't work very well at those pressures!).

    Fox x2 new shocks

The reason the DBA runs lower pressure is simply because it has a bigger air piston than the Floats and Monarchs, it's nothing to do with the proportional positive and negative chambers. The DBA and Inline have an air spring curve very much like that of a stock Float (and there's a reason that...

Hey all - any queries, feel free to email me on steve at vorsprungsuspension dot com. Replies may take a day or two because things are hectic right now but if you have questions on setup, compatibility etc I will get back to you. FYI: anyone running a Specialized Enduro, we have an...

Glad to hear it's sorted and working well! I think you'll like it even more with a volume spacer in there too :)

    Dessous by Vorsprung Suspension

You are likely correct regarding the equalisation of pressures after initially pumping the shock up, especially once you factor in reconnecting the pump to check pressure the 2nd time. As far as the sag point however - what you're saying is partly correct in that the Corset's sag is less...

    Dessous by Vorsprung Suspension

As per our emails, and more for the reference of anyone else reading this - the quad ring seal has almost certainly been damaged when the can was removed. Those ports don't have the piston sliding over them during use, only during installation/removal (same as Fox XV system), and with no...

Basically the end result of putting a Corset on a Mantra is that your 60 yr old girlfriend will run far too much sag (because let's face it, you're riding something older than you probably should be).

Hey guys, Steve here - appreciate the coverage and the discussion. We're stoked about the reception the Corset has had, to say the least! We've had so many questions about "will this work on my particular frame" that it seemed more efficient to write a small novel on how the Corset interacts...

If anyone else is actually interested in these, shoot me a line (steve at vorsprung suspension dot com) and let me know. Fairly good upgrade option for those people with either older pre-invert 40s, open bath 40Rs or people (like kidwoo) who just prefer the Charger damper to the RC2.
