Another option would be a crankbros sage 1.5 directset (bearing and cup are one part)
Most traditional external headsets have approx 15-16mm of lower stack
Most "zero-stack" headsets acutally have 4-6mm of stack (including that FSA one)
The crankbros sage has 10mm of lower stack
So best...
yo SX owners... anyone notice that a Sram rear derailleur hits the FSR pivot on the chainstay when in 11, 12T cogs?... unless a bunch of B tension or whatever it's called is dialed in?... not that i pedal much on this bike but i just threw on a 11-23 cassette and the RD fit sucks with all the B...
have the rebound/shock internals been reworked at all? or stock setup with 300 PSI and a fair amount of rebound dampening?
propedal?
appreciate it... i've had my 09 SX for 2 weeks now and just trying to get it dialed...

good to know - thx.
FWIW - i'm running a 110mm argyle RCT on an 09 SX with integrated HS for park and jumps and its money... i would think anything over 120-130mm especially if you've got some HS stack would be slacker than necessary... but i haven't tried it so what do i know...
sweet review - thx. i just built up a 2009 SX and have put a few days in the park and jumps on it. such a fun bike. i'm looking for more pop in the ride too... still tuning the rear shock... i keep dumping more psi in and now it's 240+ and still quite linear/plush... does anyone know if the...
i've run 29-30s with 50,60,70mm stems and IMO while bar width obviously affects how a rider weights and unweights the front end, bar width is an independant decision to stem length...
i'm 5'10" on a Large nomad and have run 50, 60 and 70mm stems. all work pretty good. the 70 is not as confidence inspiring as the 50 and more input is needed from the rider descending. the 70 definately sets up a better climbing position. the 60 is a pretty good compromise - best of both...
my .02... i rode my TR450 for a 1/2 season doing my own suspension setup. This generally consisted of me setting 35-40% sag (400lb spring for my last few bikes), a few on-trail dampening/rebound tweaks and leaving it alone. i put in about 40-50 days with this setup including 15 or so at WBP...
been running duraace 11-27 (swap 14 for new 11) and 11-23.
but thinking every time i double shift i should drop a few gears to 6-7 speed. curious what ratios the 6-7 speeders are running? presumably u can't run 11 anymore or does chainline really make much difference? 36/11 seems like the...
just finished testing an Elka for 3 weeks on my Wilson 4. i normally run a Roco WC coil. also run a CCDB on other bikes. the 2 stage rebound and damping circuit on the Elka feel better and much more controlled than my Roco. also feel like drop 25-50lbs of spring rate with the elka vs. the...
something is wrong there bro. i'd demand brand new brakes from Sram.
i've got 3 pairs of elixirs, and they are all flawless. i bled them all immediately (some with 5.1 some with 600 race fluid). i run different rotors on all 3 - G2, G3 and some magura marta rotors on the light bike. i've...
cesar, any chance that was you i chatted to in whistler on sunday before the Garbo DH race on the Bike n' Bean patio? 2 canadian guys drooling over that sweet Mondraker before the race at about 12:00... had a unique blue TUNE/FLow wheelset... anyways, really nice looking bike with a build that...
ran smaller rears for ages... now running 8 F&R Elixir CRs and am way happier... not because of the power though... more because dual 8s require significantly less effort IMO and provide more control... less effort braking means faster everywhere else IMO... obviously terrain is a big factor as...
wicked info.. props...
regarding MM 2.3 FR vs. UST casing... i was planning on trying the 2.3 FRs setup on some Flows and if i manage to burp or puncture the tire, just move up to the UST casing... any thoughts/info on how the actual bead differs between the FR and UST casing?... gonna try...
i've got the chromag flat 28s on AM bike and they are a bit under 28 but apparently are no longer available... only the riser OS/OSX from chromag now. in addition to Kore, there is the also the Element Technic flat 760mm bar... available in gunmetal and black for the dude who is looking to...
