Agreed, the price is a lot. Seems like the exciting bits are in the details (to me atleast), I don't have one on preorder, so no dog in this fight.
I listened to the Vital Pod on the Push fork so I'm basically a product specialist now.. One thing that touched on ALOT on the podcast was getting...
Since we're on the subject of shoes... what SPD/clipless shoes these days have wide toeboxes? Been working on unfucking my feet up and finding that my toes no longer fit my 5.10s.
It's been great so far. Large part of my decision to go with the Druid was long chainstays. I really liked how the GG rode in Gnarvana mode with the longer stays vs the Pistol(a) mode w/the shorter stays, but riding around my local trails w/160mm was def. overkill. I instantly felt better/more...
Eewings are now available in 160mm if those Talon cranks are too cheap for you. https://canecreek.com/product/eewings/?goal=0_80ba2b2a87-563cdf08f8-223658911
Good podcast, that Henry Quinny twat gave a warning about spirituality talk, still trying to figure out wtf he was on about. Unless it was some sort of British dry humor thing I missed, lol.
I haven't ridden a SPD or Crank Bros in forever. There is more float than SPDs so I imagine you gotta twist more than a SPD to pop them off. They do make a 10* float cleat if you want it to feel more SPD? https://www.sram.com/en/time-sport/models/pd-atac-eclt-a1
Time Speciale 8 and 12s are on sale FYI.

Yeah, I saw those miniteeth, seems to be part of the "magic"
Druid has been great. Honestly, it's bit too capable for the trails I ride it on. Haven't buzzed the rear triangle yet, I'm on crabonz wheels, maybe that's why?
I switched to that MRP guide the slash uses on my Forbidden Druid, the bike shifts much better and feels like less drag than the stock e13 guide. It seems to minimize that wrap angle from the chainring to cassette.
Got my spindrift together. Bought it when it was on sale for Labor Day (damn good price for a new frame these days and almost all of my parts swapped over). l wasn't too stoked the last time I had my Marino out at the bike park (to be fair the issues were my fault, not the bike).
Everything seems good, suspension moves smoothly without a shock. Not done building it yet, but everything is going smoothly so far. A bit tricky getting a shock in there (Tyee looks similar), I have no easy access to the HBO adjuster on my Super Deluxe Ultimate, maybe I'll cut down a old allen...
On the ole Propain facebook group people have mentioned this (see below) bolt breaks and basically self-destructs the whole rear end:
Somebody has made a stronger bolt in the FB group, which who knows if it's actually stronger.
Putting together a Spindrift AL now for Bike Park fun. Finishing on the frame looks very nice, raw finish is great.
For the Tyee: You can defeat the through headset cable routing on the AL, it still has the internal routing ports on the top tube. For CF, I guess you're SOL.
This pretty much mirrors my experience with O-Chain. Seems to mute chatter/small bumps felt in my feet. I ride clipless with messed up feet and they are pretty sore after riding (I probably should switch to flats). With the O-Chain that soreness pretty much doesn't exist, so added bonus for me.
Propain has some sort of unpublished sale going on. I automatically got a 20% off coupon in the cart when I was speccing out a Spindrift AL. Coupon code is "workhardplayhard23" if it doesn't come up automatically.
