yeah, that's been my biggest complaint about it; braking in the rough stuff. Would a covert do any better, though? or do you need horst/floating brake to eliminate that?
I thought I remembered reading somewhere that Yeti says you can't put an air shock, such as the DHX air on an ASX, yet I've seen numerous pictures of owners who have done it. Is yeti saying you can't, or that you shouldn't? If so, why? What are the reasons?
I'm trying to sell my ASX frame...
Currently looking at selling my Yeti AS-X w/ Z1 FR1 150mm. Weighs in at around at 36-38 lbs, and where I'm at right now, it's pretty much overkill. Looking for a setup that is lighter, and more "flat" terrain friendly, but can still soak up the terrain as well as the ASX does.
I'm looking at...
Hey there fellow primates. Moving to San Antonio later this month. Wondering what the riding is like in the area. Will be living near the airport, near W Ave and Blanco Rd 'til we can find a more permanent place to live.
Also wondering if my Yeti AS-X is going to be overkill there. Are there...
Ok, since the search excludes the term "seven" I can't seem to find any info on this new bike. All I've seen is from Yeti's site.
Anyone with spy photos/more specs? Main differences between it and the AS-X?
Sorry, this is a late follow up to a project I posted here awhile back. Here's the final prototype.

My personal opinion. Patents and/or lawyers are expensive and tend to scare small people away from pursuing their ideas and bringing them to market.
Case in point. Gravity Dropper and Maverick SpeedBall. My version, "Office Chair", never saw the light of day because:

You won't see any bike info on the site, but I know he still has all the cad files for those designs...
Sure you can, simply post what you need on MFG.com and get quotes from lots of people that can fabricate it. If you need help with getting a drawing for the parts, let me know.
A yoke wouldn't work because of the design of the trailer arm (see in pic). It's designed to attach somewhere on the left side of the bike. I'll attach pics of the original mount.
Material in the pics is just bonded powder, made with a 3D printer. Plan is to have it machined from 6061 or 7075...
To add a bit to that, you've also have to consider the design constraints of only having one or two standards to work with place on you. If we all wanted interchangeability, why didn't we just stick w/ 1" steer tubes, 25.4mm handlebars, square-taper bottom bracket, etc. Going outside of those...
Yes, it is.:bonk: I've been able to find a vendor that will machine both pieces for about $80, but most of the quotes came in at around $400-$1000 to machine.
But then again, us MTBers don't always do things that make sense, either, right?:lighten: :imstupid:
