You might try yoga too. And what a work out. Although it takes me a few sessions to feel like I'm not flailing about.

The 4x sounds awesome with the handling, but are the pivots as weak as the XC?
Having a Nomad and an '05 XC blur myself, it seems the only problem I have is the bearing life on the XC. Even by shelving it in the winter I cannot get six months out of them.

In my opinion hard to beat a steel frame set. I ride a Kelly CX and would like to experiment with a 29er mountain frame. The only problem is bar width when racing cross.
