hi kev, thanks for the help.
well i live in Portugal (in europe)...
i contacted the dealer again for the uturn spring for my weight, and they confirmed that there´s no 180 uturn spring.
i bought the 160-115 because of the adjustability and because the 180 mm was raking the bike a bit...
hum...but on the metel the preload on the ifp was so high that small bump was hard to achieve...
i let go some of the pressure and it started having small bump abilities.
but as it´s not a valve method it couldnt be easily tunned.
my idea is adding the valve and possibly add shims for...
guys,
what do you think of fusing a manitou metel r (shimmed) and a 3way coil (ifp pressure adjust) combining them to get a Metel R 3 way (except without spv) ?
this is because i want the abillity to tune it with shims, and with the air valve on the ifp side it would be nice.
i would use the...
about the oil lubrictaion properties appers that a more viscous oil lubricates best moving parts, yet it must reach those parts.
so manitou uses 5w for lubing the lowers, but rockshox uses 15w...
in my manitou i use 5w... i also turn it upside down so it gets into the bushings before i...
the best way to find out were the leak is to fill with air and put it inside a water container, like you do with tubes to find leaks.
it may just be the valve core... just go to an automotive store and ask them to replace the valve core... it´s cheap and could prevent losing time and money...
Hi everyone,
I have bought (online) a Rock Shox Domain 180 mm.
It came with the standard spring.
Problem is i need the soft spring (silver) (i weight 66 kgs=145.5 lbs).
I called the rockshox dealer here, but he told the spring is out of stock, and it would take a month to get new ones...
try it and you wont regreat it.
i also converted a manitou stance with enduro fork seals and oil bath, it became a diferent fork!!!
i also would put silicone in the microlube ports, or at least something preventing the oil coming out that way...
HI kebarb,
it´s a strange problem indeed...
wouldn´t you mean bottom out noise instead of topping out?
but wouldn´t it go away if you assembled the air can, as it has the air making it extend?
did it extended fully without the air can, before servicing?
the damper shaft may not extend fully...
hi everyone!
thanks for the reply fly!
the mod has been very sucessful so far! it really seems to be adjusted for my weight. i did noticed a bit more the sound of the oil going thru the valve, but that´s probably because it moves more now that it hasn´t good such high internal pressure...
Hi fly and everyone,
Congratulations on the shock mod!
it´s this kind of improvements that make me smile!!!
i am too on the process of tuning a 2005 metel R. (turd i know)
yet no one could tell me it has shims or not. i found out by your post that it has!
"yes!! it´s tunable!!!"...
