Hi everyone, I cancelled my trip back to Ithaca and will be joining ya'll. HOWEVER, I feel compelled to let you know the reason why I am cancelling is because due to having some inside information with my job with the State of Vermont, I am aware that VT Emergency Management is very concerned...
We're in for Columbus Day weekend, Friday night thru Monday. We can probably find alternate accommodations if getting a place big enough for all of us proves too difficult, but of course we'd rather stay with y'all!
It's been a long time since my long distance roadie cycling days, but I used to have similar issues. I think what we were experiencing was actually dehydration, which can cause nausea and vomiting. It is apparently possible to drink so much that it passes through your body instead of your body...
I have some friends back in Ithaca who've either done it or ran support for it. I've heard nothing but great things about it. It's something that's intrigued me for years. They have an option where you you can ride as a participant rather than racing it, as well.
Ascutney Trails are what I imagine the KT trails were like before a billion people started riding them. Flowy like KT, but more raw. It'll be fun; just put it on your calendar and go.
As a side note, what is the deal with those effing news banners at the top of the page?? On the mobile site...
Me too. I haven't been back since I started this thread in 2011!! I told BadDNA we really need to go next year. Honestly the trails aren't all that challenging, but they are fast, flowy, and it was a really fun time. A lot of people I have met and know from mountain biking all over the...
Dog parks are a bad idea, period. Take your dog out on the trails with you to exercise it, or only get together with other people whose dogs you know and trust.

Happy Friday all. I'm home from work today with a cold that is kicking my ass, but hey, now I have some time to post! Here's my new bike. I've had it for over a month, but we've been too buried in snow for me to ride it on the trails. Should be able to get out Sunday, though.
Last day at my job at Zoo-Mass Memorial. Starting at a new place on Monday. Hopefully it'll be less craziness and I'll have a little more time to swing by the forums again!
Nothing major going on for me this weekend. Ruptured my achilles tendon back in late September, so I haven't been able...
Here's the e-mail I sent to them. Anyone is welcome to cut & paste and tailor to their own devices:
To whom it may concern:
It has recently come to my attention that the town of Killington would like to propose the construction of 15 miles of trail system. While I'm not a resident of the...
Here's an article from the Vermont Standard that describes the project more:

KILLINGTON ...
The riding was superb! KT is wonderful; this was such a nice change, though. There was a good mix of smooth, flowy trails (Norwich U., Green Mountain Trails) vs. techy trails (Millstone, Middlebury). Killington has a much larger trail network than we'd anticipated, which ranged from flowy to...
Moosic mountain is better, IMO. That place had me begging for mercy by the time I was finished. I had so many scrapes and bruises when I came out of there, and broke the ratchet strap on one of my shoes to boot. That place is BRUTAL!!! I know JBP would love it. :D JBP, if you decide to...
Great weekend here, and I have today off. BadDNA tried to teach me how to snowboard Saturday at Wachusett. Decent teacher; less than ideal conditions. We'll have to give it another go. Yesterday we went to Berkshire East. Awesome, down to earth place and we had a great time. We skied until...
Damn, I'm coming over to your house tonight! Pumpkin and Coffee Porters, my two most favorite beers!!
BadDNA and I are enjoying a Dunkel from our local brewery, Kretschmann Brewing Co. 6 miles down the road! It's become our Friday night tradition to go down and get a couple growlers of...
I had a fantastic day at Highland yesterday with a bunch of other New England monkeys. My practically new Specialized Status that I found in the mtbr.com classifieds a few weeks ago rode like a dream. I'm looking forward to doing some more DH!
<Rant> Why the fvkc don't people put frame sizes on bikes they're trying to sell in the classifieds, and is it really that difficult to take more than one photo of the bike from multiple angles that doesn't suck??? I'm trying to find a used xs/small DH bike that won't cost me an arm and a leg...
