I am going to be down in the Estes Park area for a few days in September and want to know if there are any good mtn. biking trails near there that would be worthwhile to ride at while I'm there.
So I'm new to bikes (not biking) but wrenching on bikes. My headset and that whole area was really loose so I took it into my LBS and they told me, "normally we just loosen the stem bolts and tighten the top bolt." The guy did that and said it was still pretty loose and told me that it was...
Do cables really make that much of a difference in your stopping power? Cause my back break literally does next to nothing to slow me down. If I just got better quality cables would that solve my problem? or at least part of it?
Oh, and sorry to budge in with my own problems :poster_oops:
last week I came within 5 feet of smashing into a deer. And then 20-25 feet down the trail I almost hit the same one again. And I guess a lot of people in my area have close encounters with turkeys.
Never heard of anyone actually hitting anything though.
That's always a good feeling. And holy crap your from Plymouth! your the only other minnesotan I've seen on here (granted I haven't been around that long) and so close to where I live too...crazy
Don't work in a shoe store, unless it's a high-end fancy schmancy designer one...I worked at one for 2 yrs. Learned a lot of useless info and it was boring and low paying.
Anyway, as said before. I agree this should go for men also, I am a little overweight and wanted to start biking again...
I recently purchased a new bike with disc brakes and noticed that they are pretty weak(mostly the back). Do these types of brakes have break-in period ir is there osme adjustment I can make to get more power out of them? I they're hayes mx-2 brakes but I'm not sure (at school can't look right now)
