Fair enough... its not totally free. But if this conversation goes too deep into the politics behind it, people will start to scream it should be in the politics forum! And I'd agree! I’m just curious what people will use it for.
What is everyone spending their free $600 (for singles) that Uncle Sam is sending us? I think we can all agree it won't do squat for the economy, but it sure as hell will look good on my bike!
Im going for a Fox Float RP23.
FFirst off, get Lance’s book, “Its Not About the Bike”. Once you read it, you’ll realize… wow… its not about the bike. Sure, having Kona or S-works on your bike might be cool, really, its about riding for the love of it.
I’m in the military too...
I appreciate that help!
Looking back, I have a feeling that I am sure is shared by many riders…. I should have just paid a little bit more, and gotten the upgraded components in the first place!! Such is life.
Based on your guys’ advice, I’m looking to see what is out...
Right now I run a (stock) RockShox Recon 335 on my Specy FSRxc Comp. Would I be gaining anything if I moved up to a Fox 32 Vanilla RLC? I want to stay under $500. I havent been able to find much on the 335, but plenty on the Fox.
Mountain Bike action recommended replacing the stock...
Suckness does come to mind. So does hot.
But I mean who wouldn't pass up an opportunity to go on an all-expenses paid vacation to a sandy location for 15-months, with 12-months in between. I dont really like America, mountain biking, my friends or family, a nice climate, freedom, food...
It is a shame…. A search of all the mountain bike rides for my zip yields 5. 4 of which are 100+ miles away. Not interested.
I just don’t think word is out yet. Most people on here don’t even have profiles or pictures.
So much for networking! It’s a great...
So I join the Specialized Riders Club on-line, thinking I am entering into the MySpace of mountain biking. Man, it will be great to meet other riders, sign up for trips, etc
Turns out I entered into a well Im not sure what I entered into, but Im pretty sure I am one of 10 people on...
Probably depends on what the temperature is outside too!! The Fox Mojave glove is the best glove I have ever worn, but it isn’t warm enough when it gets nippy!!! If you are racing XC, I wouldn’t wear anything but gloves and helmet if you want to go light. If its cold out, extra...
Well, I have been toying around with a different fork. I have a RockShox Recon 355 now, but everyone seems to be enamored with FOX.. maybe a low-end Float or a Vanilla. I don’t know enough about either one, to do a good comparison.
I was also thinking new pedals, going from SPDs to...
Same question different year.
What should I buy with my tax return??
So much to choose from!! Any suggestions?? Looking to lighten my FSRxc Comp for racing.
I don’t think it has so much to do with whether you have a rear shock or not, but probably how your bike is set up vs your body type/limitations. If you are having lower back problems, try some bike/low-back specific stretching and then try changing your bike incrementally (saddle height...
The Rock Shox Revelation?? got me thinking.
Right now I run the stock Rock Shox Recon 335 fork and X-fusion shock that came with my bike (Specy, FSRxc Comp). I was thinking about upgrading but I am unsure what an upgrade will get me, since there really isnt a chance to test drive a nice...
