We have a set on a demo bike for 09. They look beefier than the hones we had last year, a little slimmer than the 09 saints we have on the other bikes. We'll post up if anything happens, but they look like a solid set of arms.
Haha. We had the same results. Even with the set screw tightened the PP knob was "floating" on the BBs. We also run little to no pro-pedal so the knob was turned counter clockwise all the way. There is a lot of endplay on the exposed PP adjustment shaft:
out
in
Just turn the shaft all the way...
Perhaps it matters how far the PP shaft is turned in/out when you take the knob off? We'll pull one apart at the shop tomorrow afternoon and report with results.
Not complaining at all, this weekends weather was fantastic! We just need to appease some winter god of weather evidently. 64 degrees and sunny yesterday: we had a BBQ to celebrate the opening of a new community bike co-op. Rocked shorts and tees all day. 40 degrees and drizzing into work this...
Hey, guys, just thought we could add to the thread.
It was 53 degrees in the city last Thursday, tempting everyone to take off their fenders and switch to skinny tires in promise of spring...then Sunday night it dumped 10 inches of snow and the temp dropped to 14.
I hate winter in...
Isn't the schlumpf torque arm/BB/drive all integrated? The Schmidt uses a more or less normal BB design with a bolt on drive system that is separate to the mounting/operation of the BB. The schlumpf torque arm seems more in place to keep the BB from spinning in the shell.
I think what is trying to be said is that your new ride is on the lower end of parts/frame quality and at 270lbs and regular use, you're going to thrash that bike to pieces in no time at all.
That said, 2 wheels is better than none so go out and ride some easy trails at first before you try to...
Everyone has their favorite brand but as long as there aren't seal swelling additives, there is real no difference between equivalent weights of motorcycle and mountainbike suspension oils.
That's it in a nutshell. The ISCG adapter will probably torque loose and spin.
That said, give it a twirl just to prove us wrong/right...it's winter, right:busted:
The tech manuals are, indeed, very fussy about clocking and tab clearances.
We've become very fussy about wanting to use the...
Been rockin' the chub every day on commuter duty in salty NY for 3 months straight. There is a minor issue of bearing preload when you re-adjust the chain tension, but it seems to work itself free in the first ride.
We got a rear one on demo from the hive, and are quite impressed with the...
The non-damper oil is just for lubrication, though it's strange that they put too much oil in the wrong side. Usually we've found oil low in both legs.
Also, drrrrrrty oil is pretty common for the damper side of marzo forks, especially in the initial break in.
We've turned golden spectro...
Your best bet to be sure is to take your top crown and stem to the metric hardware section and see what fits for sure. Oftentimes the bins at Lowes/Home Depot will be mixed-matched from people rummaging around.
Sweet ride- we hope y'all come out strong in 09.
We're just waiting for the snow/rain/freeze cycle to end...
...
and waiting, and waiting, and waiting...
