Yes, you feel it a bit sticky, but it's just an extra-low-speed damping. If Bos has the same damping as the other brands you don't feel nothing. It's for that you don't feel it when you ride ;)
The weight of my Idylle is 7,24 (3kg280) with 220mm steerer and rubbers. It's more than other forks...
...the BOS Idylle Rare have an hydraulic bottom out bumper and you can change the piston position to 160/170/180 or 190mm. Have you seen an elastomer bumper in MX Fork ??? Elastomer is cheap and just here to stop the feeling of bottoming....with a good hydraulic you don't bottoming so...
Like mine ? ;) It's my Old yellow with boxxer tuned in Pearl white with Totem.
Yes it's the best Dh bike i have ever riden ! 15kg850 with minion 2.5 tubeless.
Nicolas Vouilloz run Peille downhill race and win other local race this season with front crossmax XL and XM819 or Ex721 rear. In Peille he's riding a comp32 at front (2.8!).
I'm 145lbs and in ride in downhill with hope pro2 /Dt Comp / XM 819 and Minion 2.5" tubeless. Zero problem. Stiffer...
The more important fact, is the fork was totally change by this mod.
More sensitive, more reactive and after more progressive, and less bottom out for the same pressure.
A really mini Dh fork !
The custom valving is the same if you change lenght shaft. Just a different size and form of the "valve" ;) You're right ;)
Steel spring is linear. i think linear when 160lbs do 50mm travel and 320 lbs do 100mm travel.
When i say progressive it's to say more progressive, same a steel spring who...
No :) with force you can calculate the different pressure, and with volume, you can calculate the modification :pirate2:
my mod is not just super glue. i made a new valve kit. Reduce the volume is not the best choice ;)
I can't tell us ;)
i take some measurements and after i calculate with laws of presure, volume, stichions etc...But the calculs are the same we feel in riding :)
Hello,
I buy a 2008 totem, it's a very good fork. However, i feel the fork sensitive but very linéar. It's difficult to keep a correct travel in very hard downhill without more presure...and more presure is less reactivity. When i test steel spring version, there is no-problem, big reactivity...
It's what you need ! this reducers 1.5" to 1"1/8 can change your head angle -1° or -1,5°. You put cane-creek IS2 or similar in.
