I just finished up building up my new Eighthinch Scrambler and thought I'd put up a few pics. This is my first foray into big wheel territory, and I'm really happy with it so far. It's just so easy to haul ass. The 55cm frame may be a tad large for me, but I think it works out OK with my bar...
Picked up a pair of Etnies Number Mids (Aaron Ross sig) a few months back and like them. Good ankle protection and velcro strap to keep the laces out of your cranks. Nicest part is a high density rubber plate built into the middle of the sole to keep your pedals from eating through the shoes.
Well, if you try to use mx bike grips they won't fit; one side is bigger to fit the throttle. ATV grips would fit, but will look pretty goofy. Regular mushroom grips like Longnecks or Odyssey Team grips have always worked fine for me and are super comfortable.
Also, I have been riding a DK Six Pack (the older version of the bike I linked) for over a year, and have only had to replace things like tires, cables, pedals etc because of breakage/wear. Everything else is still stock and holding strong, or modified by me out of boredom.
The FIT completes are horrible for the money. For $350 there you get a high-ten frame, when you could have full chromoly for the same price:

You should at least spend the money now on a complete with full chromoly frame, fork, and bars instead of having to upgrade later. Unless you aren't even sure you'll be into it.
