    UW to Snoqualmie/Steven's Shuttle?

You can get to North Bend by public transportation using your UPass, but it takes a while with at least one transfer somewhere down I90. From North Bend you can try hitching up to the mountain. It doesn't take long if the weather is nice an you have full ski gear on, but that isn't a long term...

    Riding in Olympia WA

Just like the other Teague from WA said (what are the chances?), WWU is where the college riding scene is at. However, Evergreen isn't a death sentence for riders. Granted most of your classmates will be more interested in riding the critical mass on their late 70's cafe cruisers than making...

    which frame...

I would go with a Stinky. I have built up two Stinky frames, both bought used. One was a 2000 Deelux and the other was a 2003. It's a very straight forward, proven suspension design. Maybe not quite on par with some of the more expensive bikes, but for the money you can get an 02 or 03 frame...

Newby needs help on selecting the right bike and eventually where the best deals are.

I'm in a pretty similar situation, I live in Oly, but ride all over WA and BC. However, I sold all of my bikes recently and now need to find a new do-it-all bike on a budget. From Capital Forest to Whistler is a pretty broad spectrum as far as types of riding, but I've owned a couple of bikes in...

    Buy and Sell (PNW specific)

Getting rid of everything to raise some quick travel funds. I'm taking offers on some smaller stuff, the rest is all on ebay, but if you're anywhere near the Seattle - Olympia corridor, we could probably work a way around those pesky shipping charges. Pics and descriptions are on EBAY, otherwise...

Headfirst into a tree and took the seat to my nethers, OUCH!

As a long time Oly resident, I'm a little bummed out that this is the first time I've heard of "Dart." I live right next to the Amtrak jumps and have been riding them for a few years now, but have never even heard mention of this "dart" place. Anybody care to PM me and enlighten me as to where...

addicted to the DJs need a frame

If you haven't considered a steel frame I'd recommend taking a look at a Balfa Minuteman. Burly steel frame with horz. dropouts and without the weight of a .243. Pinkbike did an huge article on the frame a while ago.

    Check out Antigravity on freecaster

If he's talking about guys on skis eating Sh!t, he's gotta be talking about the end of Matchstick's Yearbook. The guy launches like 3 consecutive cliffs, looks like he catches and edge at 60mph and in the time it takes him to fall over he probably hurtles 75 feet down the mountain. One of the...

    Snakeonia video

just wondering if there was any way to get past the fact that the registration bit won't accept an email address ending in @u.washington.edu as a valid address?

Hey Capitol Forest Fans..... We now have an official website!

FINALLY. That is a great site. Riding at capital forest has always been hit or miss for me. Most of the trails are good fun, but I've hit some horribly overgrown, washed out, gnarled stuff out there while exploring. Thanks for the info on where and what to ride.

    Ape Canyon/Plains of Abraham Beta?

Just rode it yesterday. It's pretty straight forward. First few miles are a straight climb to the plains of... abraham? or something like that. The climb is mostly under the trees and on a nice trail so it's a workout without being obnoxious. Once you top out at the plains it's a tradeoff, the...
