some new stuff coming our way www.pinkbike.com/news/Dainese-Oak-Pro-Aluminum-Knee-Pads-Eurobike-2011.html
I heard these new knee-guards will also come with BOA without Aluminum cup, without BOA with aluminum cup, and the simple no Aluminum/no BOA version.
Anyone keen on some Dainese gear, protection or else, their new D-Store is opened in Schaumburg (West of Chicago). Grand Opening this Sunday (apr. 10th) with deals on MTB gear.
for all the freeride/DH guys in the upper Midwest. Nordic Mtn in WI has a full freeride day with the lifts open ($20 for the day) on May 21st. It's a fun place to ride, great opportunity to practice for the June DH.
go try them, it's never comfortable just by looking at it. Check the Dainese Evolution too (google it for best prices), if you're going that way, why not go with the better. ;)
Not sure what the max capacity is but this weekend had an average of 200 people (few got the news it had opened) and I would say it was at half-capacity.
Spent the NYE weekend there, rode 31st and 1st (we had done it at CLE last year) great way to celebrate the new year:thumb:. I love the place. It is definitely different from CLE which is a bit more "organic" as you can see it grew with times, that additions where made as things went.
I like...
Chris, I came late Saturday pm (got delayed by some weather related issues at home), I think we must have met or talked if you were there sat night too, I shot some pics of the guys during the small jump session before the bonefire. I saw your trailer and Maxxis tent and think I said high when I...
What a great weekend and first real DH racing experience for me. Awesome job to Chad, Big J and the crew for putting up such a great event.
The run was more technical than I was expecting it to be, it was very "East Coast" and humbling I have to say but my 19 y-o son and I really enjoyed the...
For some of us in a small part of the Midwest, our holy grail of beer is the Spotted Cow, although I do spend a lot of time with the Fat Tire too :D The New Berlin guys are cool, think a bit like us, ride bikes and most important brew some good beers, I also like the Skinny Dip and the other...
Big J, is the camping open for the DH weekend, I thought it was only for the following (XC/Super D) weekend? I was looking at some campsite cabin 10 minutes away?
Yes for sure, but I'm fine with "Midwestern DH" right now, just got a 6" bike, just looking for some fun right now, although Marquette is definitely the place I want to visit this Summer. I'll try to go there before their bike fest, to try the trails first.
try the Dainese Evolution, pretty well vented with the new material and the stretchy part makes it easy for Leatts

I know, too funny, the guy keeps on saying that there's a history of known cracks on the '09s, still buys the frame, has some remodeling needs because he doesn't like the paint, alters the frame despite the writing, rides the bike and then finds the crack and expect a replacement? eeeer!?
Anyone riding a Scott Genius 30 or 40? I am very interested by the possibility to vary the suspension travel.
I am debating between a Commencal Meta 5.5 or a Scott Genius and was really inching towards the Meta 5.5. until I came across the Genius and it's ability to go full travel or 4".
One of my friends ride Kettle with the Slayer, good enough bike for there. Anyway, when we race Kettle the dudes on their hardtail fly by me in the steep uphills, standing up, when I'm spitting my lungs out on my full suspension.
For that kind of travel you are looking for it is going to be...
