"There’s the obvious stuff, too, like riding a bunch of straight fall-line skidder junk in the pacific northwest proved how much more stable a slacker bike is, but you knew that already."
Favorite quote of the article. Trails are overrated up there. Please quit picking on shake-n-bake...
Great review Kidwoo! Yeah I bet that Spencer fool is just cursing his poor decision in bikes and should wait for your review before he buys anything in the future. Oh well the terrain where he lives probably doesn't even merrit a 6" trail bike!!!
The large Wilson feels about the same as a medium Sunday in reach. The wheel base is a little longer. I would try the Wilson in the 64 degree setting before using an angle set. The bike feels a little different in sag than the #'s would suggest.
The way the chainstay sits below the concentric bottom bracket on the Wilson results in a bottom bracket height much lower in sag than the 13.9" would suggest.
The Frame looks amazing and my brief ride on the TR 450 proved it rides better than it looks!. As for the paint, I think I will get mine through DropNZone and take advantage of some free powder coating.
Agreed that weight is not the most important thing. Geometry, suspension, stiffness and durability could all rank higher. But if you ride any given bike at 42lbs and then ride that same bike at 38 or 39 lbs without changing any of the main factors(ie coil vs air suspension) and maintain strength...
Heres my newly built up Izimu. I have rode it for about a week and I am in love. I will have some ride pics when I bring a camera. Its too dark to take pics around here lately
