well, i've been running 48H on bmx forever and still manage to buckle wheels so i figure it's only gonna be worse with the larger diameter wheels - thing i'd kill a 32H 26" wheel in a day!
UPDATE:
New bars, stem, grips & tyres. Just need some bombproof wheels now......any suggestions? I'm thinking of getting a 48H Halo SAS rear wheel......any good?
Now fully rigid!
Yup - i've always liked chicagoed bars - probaly cos i'm super tall & need all the breathing space i can get!
Definately gonna add some brakes soon for some proper off-road action, but just enjoying riding it like a giant bmx at the mo, been brakeless on 20's for sooo long...
Just moved up from a 20" to this.....so chuffed - feels great to finally be riding a proper sized bike!
2008 Atomlab Trailpimp frame
Identiti Rebate Jump XL fork
FSA Pig headset
Fitbikeco D.L.T stem
Gusset Open Prison bars
Primo Corey Martinez grips
Deluxe seat/post combo
Animal clamp...
I'm thinking of picking up one of these frames?
Are they any good? I'm looking for strength & longevity.....
Any opinions /reviews much appreciated......
I know, but i definately feel it when everytime i turn up at a park/street spot all the others riders are under 18 and loads better than me!
Gets kinda weird always being the only adult at a spot, tend to ride on my own 99% of the time which gets kinda old fast...
Wanted to see if any of yous got into bmx (or dirt jumping or mtb street, etc) as old as me at the ripe ol' age of 22 (i'm 24 now) & how u found getting into the sport at such a late stage....
Wow - that is one beautiful Deuce cmc, my first deuce was that colour - love it.
I'd love a set of 9" bars on my bike but there not readily available in the uk - i'd run em with a profile push and loadsa spacers though!!!
In fact - i'd quite happily rock a set of 10" bars.....
Yup - you've got to factor in the head & seat angles.
Steeper head angles meant more room (bars further forward) & visa versa
Steeper seat angles mean more room when standing (feet further back)
Slacker seat angles mean more room when sitting (seat further back)
Hope this makes sense...
I'm also 6'6" and I ride a Macneil Deuce Deuce BMX frame that has a 22" toptube with 8.25" high bars, a topload stem and an inch of spacers.
22" is the perfect length TT for me with 20" wheels.
Cheers for all the responses guys.
Sounds like these Fox gloves are the ones to go for, anyone know where i can buy them from in the UK?
Good to hear your back riding again. Mine was also a pretty nasty break & i was naive enough to think it would be good to ride on a few days after the...
...pics of Jaumell Campbell's new 2009 Deuce Deuce are up on the Macneil site.

So psyched about this - been at least 3 years since it was updated.
Hopefully this one weighs less than 6lbs.....!
I seriously recommend anyone over...
Recovering from a broken wrist at the moment, wondered if anyone could recommend some form of decent wrist protection/support for when i start riding again.
I've looked at the 661 ones and wondered if anyone had any experience of the different models.
One thing that strikes me as odd is that...
