    Exclusive:Trek Wind Tunnel Test

I would buy the front fender / number plate / spoiler thingy - it's KTM-ish and it will reduce the mud on the goggles :) Did you notice they use the "low speed wind tunnel" - so they are not going that much faster :D

Manitou Swinger SPV X4 Coil Shock ?

I'd swap my DHX5 for a SPV Swinger any day. I don't know about their new shimmed dampers but the SPV was good for me. I can't put my finger on it but it had a super stable feel in the rear... and the bike did corner better - I'm looking forward to one of the 4x myself, but i can't find a good...

I wish there were more fork choices...

I must say I'm pretty happy with the Travis (08 air backed int... something). Plenty strong (compared to my 07 Boxxer before), seals last longer, the damper is real nice TPC based with IFP serviceable cartridge so no need to play with it every month and no leaks from the floodgate. All the...

    Handlebar width extensions?

Go for lead weights with the proper shape and let them extend outside the grip 10-15mm (on top of the 10-15mm you need to extend your handlebar). This will reduce the resonance when going through stuff. Moto guys do it why not you :) Hey, if it's going to be a wacky idea why not go full out...

    New Manitou Dorado?

Humm i wonder with the return of the USD race forks when will there be a bushing system like the Showa's Moto forks with one bushing on the upper and the other on the lower tubes... i think then i'd concider spending 2000$ on a USD fork :)

lowering my bike's front end - options?

I would grab a flat bar for the trail bike. It could be a bit lower than the DH as the 160mm front end will sag less and will stand taller in general. Don't forget the HA of a trail bike will be bigger so that will add up to the feeling of a taller front end too ;)

    What is it

Beer is great for finding your flow - better than the Saint stuff :D

    Best Downhill Saddle

I'm pretty happy with my Selle Monte Grappa - Blade - it's a slice of heaven to sit on and when you're off it it's gone. At 180g it weighs next to nothing and the only issue is that it's not in production any more. The new one with the same properties is the "Race Culture" I'm a fan of the...

    lube oil wt for lyrik/totem

I was running 15W50 Motorex full synthetic oil in my Boxxer and now i use the same with my Travis - it's been flawless so far.

avid code or code 5 question?

Pretty much every Code owner i know (me incl. back when i had those cr*ppy brakes) has this issue, and have solved - removing the bolt by hamering in a Torx key and after the bolt is gone they use a bend cable or a split pin to hold the pads. When my codes did this i got a pair of Formula K24...

    summer weight bike glove help

I'm in love with my 661 Rajis, they have some padding and that's about it. I did love the Inclines too, and if i can i would get a new pair even with no padding (my old one is 3 years old and still strong) but at this stage Rajis come at the same price for me and are easy to get. And... don't...

    2010 Boxxer Team or 2010 40 RC2

The '10 Boxxer Team has an elastomer... ou wait it's a whole new "Drop Stop" system - that's cool yey! I don't think it's the best way to add position sensitivity - that's why they left it back in the 20-th century. I would not buy anything from SRAM in it's first year on the market too...

help me pick a new direct-mount stem and bars

Humh... i did notice the sunline stem having a little less bolt insertion but damn! I used the E13 Ali stem on my Boxxer but i did have some play in it. Never the less it was good when it was tight. Now i've gone with the Travis so no DM stem for me, but i did have a look at something... out of...

Help to identify year of my Rock Shox BoXXer

If you have compression adjust on the left lower (inside the bolt) it's an 05 WC with black lowers, if not it's a 05 Race with WC stanchions. In any case you can upgrade it to the Motion control system (06-09) and than you'll be the only one to know what is it  The race has only...

    8 Speed derailleur and shifters?

I'm running the new Saint with a SRAM Attack 8sp shifter on a SRAM 12-26 cassette and SRAM PC38 chain for a few months now and it's flawless. Shifts are crisp and it needs way less maintenance than a 9sp - I used the same setup (the same shifter, chain and cogs) with the old Saint for 2 years...

    Manitou Travis Triple Ti Question

A bit late but still - I did have the same issue with my Travis. When i got it the Pressure was low and i ended up with Air in the oil. I did a race that way and after that i got it opened. Air bled the system, added some more oil on top of the floating piston. As for the adapter - i used a...

    Whats your tire setup?

I'm running a High Roller 60A 2.5 rear with a Hutchinson Baracuda 2.5 35A front. I like it pretty loose on the rear and i noticed the front will grip better on a wet rock rather than on a dry rock (i don't know why but i like it :) ). I'm pretty happy with the setup but i'm pissed i sold the...

2010 Marzocchi is back! 6.8lb adjustable shimstack 888!

The marzo with the rebound issue has 2 rides on it and is less than a month old. I did not mean pressurised but... a system with no direct contact between oil and air (IFP/bladder type) I just don't know the word for it. As for a seal life - you can get normal seals from a moto shop as you can...

2010 Marzocchi is back! 6.8lb adjustable shimstack 888!

Humh... oil in the lowers - loads of unsprung weight, and exposed to the dirt/elements -> inconsistant damping and heavy, and rebound damping creates pressure build on the oil/dust seals (vacuum) that's why Marzo's and older Boxxers had issues with the rebound full of sh!t and oil there get's...

    Bar Width

I've used 740mm Zoo! lowriser (trials), 720mm Pazzaz riser, 750mm Funn FullOn and some smallers bars before those. I've just installed the Shaman Race 750mm bars and i'm still to get some ride time on them but from all the rest the 740mm Zoo! felt more... natural. I would have gone for the 760mm...
