    Blisters in the fingers

Hi all, so this is a repeat problem and maybe somebody has a good solution. Always after a long day riding DH my hands get blisters on the inside of the fingers where they connect to the hand. This also happens on a 4-hour all-mountain ride, but riding DH at the bike park accelerates it to a...

Bucked OTH approaching steep-takeoff doubles at speed. What's wrong?

MDJ, unfortunately I am the trailblazer amongst my ride buddies when it comes to jumps. I have this one guy who races Expert but he too waits for me to clear a jump before taking it, and I want to make sure I teach him properly so he doesn't go and buck himself as well. As for the rest of the...

Bucked OTH approaching steep-takeoff doubles at speed. What's wrong?

Hey, I want to ask about properly approaching a lippy jump with my DH bike. I race sports category and so still have a lot to learn in terms of technique. So I can take 20' doubles at speed fine, and sometimes tend to be on the over-compensating side and land with my rear wheel. However, on...

Boxxer Team: 1mm space above and below the head tube

Yes, it's a FSA Orbit Z 1.5" to 1-1/8" conversion. I've actually got the O rings but slid them to take the picture - so if I understand correctly, you're saying the gap SHOULD be there, just it should be covered with the O-rings?

Boxxer Team: 1mm space above and below the head tube

So I understand what you guys are saying. I went back there and tried, there's still the <1mm spaces that can be covered by the dust-seal o-ring. jvnixon: you have exactly the same setup as me. Underneath the rubber rings on the top and bottom of the headset there's no space? The headset...

Boxxer Team: 1mm space above and below the head tube

Hi, I have a Boxxer Team '08 fork installed on an EC-D DH bike. I took apart the upper crown to remove the brakes, and now that I've reinstalled it there are 1mm spaces above and below the head tube. Here are links to pics with red lines showing the spaces...

    rob warner and freecaster

Thanks for the info Staplerzzzz Server is back down. I love the site and appreciate what they're doing, but they should know that big ticket events like that have us DH junkies waiting all week to watch the videos. Like some others on this post, I'm willing to hit refresh 20 times just to get...

Mongoose EC-D derailleur hanger - where?

Hi, I have a 2008 Mongoose EC-D and I broke my derailleur hanger today crashing a drop. I want to have it replaced quickly and going through the store will take about 3 weeks. Checked out derailleurhanger.com but they didn't seem to have anything compatible. Anyone know of other aftermarket...

DJ tires - selection and PSI

Thanks for the advice! What would be a good size? Remember I only do DJ at the park, won't take these DH/FR or anything. Is 2.35 too thick? Also, which brand do you recommend? Thanks.

DJ tires - selection and PSI

Hi, I know this question is probably beaten to death, but didn't find anything up to date, so here goes: I do some DJ with my P.2, nothing too big, only in the park and no urban. I want tires that are good for DJ but won't give me too much trouble (as I don't need to fly 40' in the air, I'm...

Boxxer Team - removing top cap

Thanks guys, this is great advice!! I just want to make sure, because someone mentioned 'spring side': this is the Team fork, so I assume both sides have springs. That's why I've assumed I need to take out spacers from both sides. If this is not true then I will just close the compression cap...

Boxxer Team - removing top cap

Hi all, I have a new 2008 Boxxer Team and I wanted to adjust preload. I've removed the top cap off the non-damping leg easy. Now I was able to unscrew the damping leg and it did unscrew to a certain point (seems almost out) but now it unscrews indefinitely and doesn't come out. I've tried...

    Mongoose EC-D 2008 sizing

Thanks fortenndu! I'm still thinking of getting the EC-D (Large) just because of price. I don't own any DH/FR rig so I'm sure the new experience will outweigh any drawbacks that the specific bike has. When I see that I'm using it more than six times a year I'll consider upgrading to a better...

    Mongoose EC-D 2008 sizing

Which model year do you own? I think the sizing changed, at least between '06 and '08. I'm not going for the Boot'r mainly due to price - I think the EC-D is a little cheaper overall. I would get the Boot'r team (I don't like the standard Boot'r component) over the EC-D, but it looks like it...

    Mongoose EC-D 2008 sizing

Hi, I've noticed an older 2006 post on the subject but the sizing seems different than what it is today. I'm considering buying the EC-D '08 but was wondering if anyone about 6'2" has experience riding them? I think I'm borderline between M & L sizes and wanted to get someone's...
