What apartment are you looking at...The Raven? If so, we looked there and it was a dump! If it's in your price range look at the Pinnacle at South Mountain. We love it, and it's at one of the entrances to South Mountain. 48th st and Guadalupe.
Keep me informed of when and where you're going. I'm trying to get over this damn chest cold that kept me from going to Seattle this weekend. I really need to do a ride though...if I feel better.
Amy,
Not sure if you remember me (Greg), but I come up there pretty often and ride with you all. I think the last ride I did with you was Ranger Creek and Skookum flats with Joy, Skookum, Rick, and some others. I live here at the base of South Mountain and will gladly show you and whoever...
Anytime. Trying to motivate myself to do a ride today but SM's been a zoo due to all the out of towners. Maybe I'll do a night ride and freeze my a$$ off!
HA...you're an ass!!! South Mountain has been packed full of cars with plates from all over the country. I'm pretty sure they ALL got some of that special Lycra material that makes them look SOOO good and SOOO much more aerodynamic for X-mas. GO HOME!!!! And take your damn spandex...
Let me know if you're going to go on Monday. I've got Reserves this weekend in California but I'll be back Sunday night. I'll be up for a Monday ride if it's not early morning.
Sunrise...but it's about a four hour drive. Chairlifts.
Flagstaff can be shuttled as well as South Mountain in Phoenix. You might not use it as much as your XC but I think you'd regret not bringing it.
Did any of you guys that I met at Cactus Jacks end up logging on here? I was thinking of doing a South Mountain ride tomorrow. Possibly up Mormon, down National to Javelina, then Beverly Canyon back to the parking lot. Not sure of a time yet. I have a 12:30 appointment so I'm not sure if I'm...
What bar were you at? I was just at my buddies pizza joint and they have it on tap. I haven't had a glass of that since I moved here from Seattle. Damn that's a good beer...especially on tap!
I agree. Bike early or invest in a lighting system. I'm not an early riser so I opt for option # 2. Tubeless tires are popular as are the tire liners or goo. Flats are inevitable though. Stinkyboy rides a lot and could tell you more but I heard he's not on here anymore.
Just did a 3.5 hour ride there today. Largest municipal park in the United States. Endless miles of trails. Heavily congested on Mormon, Desert classic and National (where you'll spend 90% of your time) but also a great place to meet riders. Weather is just now becoming bearable (under 100...
