I am wondering which of these pads will work better for all mountain type riding. I have heard that the POCs fit very snug for pedaling, but I am worried that they may be to heavy duty, as they are intended for DH. I've never used either pad. wondering what everyone thinks?

I love the OCT cranks. Light and bombproof. Everyone seems to hate them, but the bottom brackets have never failed me. Not a single shot bearing in a season of 15 races, most of them very muddy.
Does chain slap wear through it? How does it handle hosewater?

If he really is on Giant it will be interesting to seewhat geo tweaks he asks for, if any. Maybe it will silence some of the e-haters about that frame if he keeps the head angle where its at.
