I emailed all the ski resorts last year, they replied with a resolute no.

Not likely. I live in Chicago and will be very excited if anyone knows of anything with any descent at all.

I am building my first bike.

Start here to decide - http://www.mtbr.com/reviewscrx.aspx A lot of things are personal preference. I would start by upgrading that which connects you to the bike and the bike to the road- grips, pedals, and tires. For strictly urban free ride, my personal choices would be ODI Ruffian...

    Fuji Panic Pro?

I was at Target today, and I checked out their bikes. Their Schwinn cruisers use the same fork as the Fuji Pro. Gross.

    Fuji Panic Pro?

The Panic Pro needs a new fork and new pedals at least. Suntour XC? That's some WalMart ish. If you're spending any money at all on it, why not just buy a good used bike?

    what size is my stem?

Your bike is 1 1/8" threadless. Your handlebar is is 25.4. The original stem is probably 100mm. That's easy to measure though.

    Fuji Panic Pro?

It's not a bad bike, but you'll find yourself looking to upgrade rather quickly. It's best to start with something more specifically freeride oriented.

    thomson stem for fr?

Go with the 50mm, aside from the great steering feel a shorty stem will give you, the Thomson 50 looks amazing... That photo was taken after installing and abusing it. They're built to last. :thumb:

    PlanetX Zebdi alternative

I love my Planet X Zebdi frame so much that I want another one. Unfortunately, PX discontinued it. What's a similar alternative to this frame? I haven't ridden anything with the same amazing geometry. I don't care if it has a seat or not.
