Hey what's going on, I bet you would have gotten a lot more and much better responses had you posted this in the DJ/BMX forum. That scott voltage yz.02 looks real nice but that has a rigid fork. I would look for something with a little suspension in the front something around 100 mm or travel...
I use the travel adjust on my Talas all the time. I have the Scott Voltage FR which also has rear travel adjust so the talas was a must. I use the 130mm and 100mm for trail riding and DJ and the 160mm for down hilling. I guess like everyone is saying, if you're planning on using the travel...
A nice one to warm up on is Ego Trip. I think it's a good one to warm up on because it's not steep and you can control your speed and build up to going fast without slamming on the breaks the whole way down. Trust me I like pinning it, but it takes me 1-2 runs to get used to going fast.
Jeez, how do you judge this comp... Whoever makes it through the whole course alive wins? That first drop is freaking massive as well as most of the other features.
The thing is incredible, I've been on it for a few weeks now. I've ridden it on some of the local trails around here and some dirt jumps also. So far, I'm very happy with it.
The Talas seems to be the perfect match for the Voltage FR with the 215mm i2i shock set-up. The rear is adjustable...
Depends which dropouts you ride with the short, medium, or long which produce 415 mm, 425 mm, and 435 mm chain stay lengths respectively. The bike frame is available in short or long, which IMO has more to do with what you'll be using the bike for rather then how tall you are. There's tons of...
If you're looking for something that jumps well the Scott Voltage FR is good. I have seen them set up with an DHX RC4 and a Boxxer
I have mine set up light
And all different set-ups in between. This thing loves to be in the air. It's extremely well balanced and is extremely versatile. With the...
Here's what I ended up going with. I realized that the Bass was really only going to be good for DJ and I ride a lot of other things besides DJ. I found this to be the most versatile frame and I paired it with a just as versatile fork and I got my Swiss army bike.
This place looks cool. The first picture of freeride trail 1, do you go up that or down that? I can't tell if that gate at the end opens or not. Is this near the Fort Worth area?
Talked to the my LBS yesterday. He contacted the specialized rep. The rep said specialized only made 5 of the SX in size short. Could this possibly be true? Anyway the rep is trying to locate one, but doesn't look good. I think I've decided that I'm gonna go with the Scott Voltage FR 10 frame...
I also thought the Scott Voltage FR was supposed to be available as a frame only with an rp23 rear shock. Anybody know about that? I wasn't considering it because I haven't seen it yet.
