    vertical play with SPD pedals

I have my shoes since 2002, so they are pretty worn. I also had the 646 pedals with the red platform and liked them, but the Mallet's just felt better (and I believed the CB hype). My pedals are brand new, so I'm lookung for new shoes. The best choice is probably a more XC oriented shoe...

    vertical play with SPD pedals

I've tried the hardest-softest-middel setting and there's always vertical play. Loosened everything and set it back to the maximum setting...still play. I've tried my friends 770 pedals and the play is even (a little) worse. So it must be my shoes, because the cleats are brand new. But I...

    Chunder DH

I've had a problem with my Chunder. My front tire slipped on my rim (Mavic EX 325) when I was throwing out my front anchor. The result was a ripped valve and a flat tire.

    Fabien Barel helmet cam

Respect for the guy with the helmetcam. There aren't that many cameramen that can actually follow a World Champ.

    Winterberg Germany

Some Winterberg tips : - A bike with 6" or 7" travel is more than enough - If you can, try to visit during the week days, it can be very crowded in the week-end. - Make sure your seatclamp is tight before you put your bike on the lift! - I would suggest a 2.35 DH tire. - Never ever use...

    Flipping your stem

Well, I flipped my stem because my front wheel drifted too much, especially in off camber sections and loose stuff. My flipped stem did not only improve the front wheel grip, it also improved my cornering, pumping and even sprinting. Only manuals and the super steep stuff is a little...

    Flipping your stem

Hi, I know that most XC stems can be used upside down. But some people have posted that 'some' DH stems aren't designed to be flipped (and they can fail or snap) I have an Easton Vice stem : http://www.eastonbike.com/PRODUCTS/STEMS/stem_vice_'08.html I was wondering how do you know a...

    Mavic xm719 Disc Rim

I have the XM719 disc as a back-up rim for my SX Trail. (mostly used for bikeparks, DH runs and some Enduro) I'm sure that the XM719 rim isn't 'that' much weaker than a EX721. Remember that a good wheelbuilder is the keyfactor for a strong wheel.

    X Games.

I agree, it has become some kind of 'crashfest'. The harder and brutal the crash the better...don't like it at all. I prefer "Whoa how did he pull that one so clean" instead of "Oh God that guy is going to kill himself"
