    San Jacinto...

I've attempted it twice, both on the Friday after Thanksgiving. On my first attempt we started hiking the PCT from the desert floor near the 10. I guess that's the northwest side of San Jacinto. We started hiking about 4am and we ran into snow when the trail intersected a fire road. We...

    socal monkey rollcall

Did the goat make it out ok? My folks live over the hill from there, so I was clearing brush Tuesday. Fortunately firefighters stopped it at the 94 on the west end of the 94. Crazy seeing the choppers pulling water out of the Cottonwood golf course, unfortunately it wasn't the first time...

    ATT problems

I've ridden my old 40+ pound beast up ATT, but I don't see the fun in pushing FR bikes up big hills that I can shuttle.

Sand Hill Ranch in the east bay had a similar issue.

TONS of brand new high-end parts, local preferred!

I thought you were in Santa Cruz. I bought some parts off you about a year ago, and they were in brand new condition as described. Thanks for the hookup.

    Chain slap protection

I used some 3M rubber tape product I bought at Lowes or Home Depot. It's worked well for several years without having to be replaced yet.

What to change out to lighten my Bullit?

I just got rid of my Jr. T for a Fox 36 on my Bullit and I seriously dropped about 2 pounds. Huge weight savings and the Bullit is so responsive now. I would highly recommend that if you are looking to convert your Bullit into more of a trailbike. I'm considering tubeless tires too for less...

    mammoth opening

Owen's River Gorge? That place is fun, but I used to prefer Happy Boulders. Tear up your hands like something fierce, but really fun roofs. I sold off all my pro to get into mtn biking years ago and I don't regret it, but I'm starting to climb once a month again. It's great to get back out...

    Annodizing in SD?

$100 seems like a great price. Does that include chemically stripping the powder coat off your frame? Post pics if you can when you get it back.

    Annodizing in SD?

Just out of curiosity, does anyone know of a shop that annodizes aluminum in San Diego? If so, any idea how much a frame may cost to get annodized?

    Tubeless and drops?

No need to explain your credentials. I've lurked enough on socalmtb (before it totally sucked) to know how hard you treat your equipment...and your body. And I thought I got hurt a lot. Do you actually mix your own goop, or do you just use the Stan's mix?

    Tubeless and drops?

So Joel, you are using Stan's, but instead of buying the whole kit you are just using the sealant and making your own rim strip setup? Sounds good to me since I'm broke from buying a new fork. Thanks for the detailed info.

Thanks Jimmy. Care to tell me what your ghetto recipe is and how you do the ghetto setup?

    Tubeless and drops?

I'm considering using Stan's No Tubes to convert my regular rims to a tubeless setup, but I'm concerned about the reliability of tubless for the abuse of DH and FR type riding. I don't hit huge drops, but I weigh 210 and hit smaller drops and I love rock gardens. Should I even consider...

Oh yeah, I love Iron Mtn. The rock gardens are so fun. Glad you stumbled upon such a cool trail.
