From my own experience, it’s plenty stiff but also considerably heavier than a tubed rear triangle. The seat- and chainstays have a cover for the cnc’d pockets, starting ca 20cm forward of the rear axle, so dirt flung by the tire won‘t collect there.

Your most disappointing bike related purchase, what was it?

Nah, I still have a set of Saints. The Trickstuff were kind of a hand-me-down.The first owner didn‘t like them, nor did I. German Engineering at it‘s finest. A solution looking for a problem.

Trickstuff Brakes, impossible to get a proper bleed. Fidgety to install, setup and maintain. I‘d rather ride my old Saints again.

Had a head on collision with team spandex on a local trail this way. His brake lever smashed my left digit finger joint at the middle phalanx in two parts, could've been way worse though. The japanese knotweed was pretty tall, we didn't see each other until we were two meters apart.

2013 model, undid all the lower and upper link axles while riding, cracked in various spots within 1.5 years.

Your most disappointing bike related purchase, what was it?

Pretty much everything Acros, e13 or Ht Components ever laid their hands on. Intense Tazer Fro, two Nicolai frames and a lot of other weird stuff I'm trying not to remember.

Quick & short update. I like it. Not a great climber, but so am I and I don't really care, there's no uphill-tech around here anyway. It isn't a light bike by any means, 15,5kg in the current setup, Exo tires, no fancy parts, with a coil shock it will be around 16kg. Shock setup is odd, needs a...

I don't know, I'm still hiding the frame from my girlfriend and I'm waiting for parts to complete the build, so there's not a lot I can say about my particular bike. I've had a short stint on one of his test riders bikes and it felt pretty comfy, coming from a current Norco Range in large...

Yeah, more or less this is what happened, but not by choice. I have an Actofive with the steel frontend, because we live in the same city and it was kind of a deal. To be honest, the guy who runs Actofive wanted to do a semi-proto run with 20 steel frames on a pre-order basis, but wasn't able...

The Santa Cruz V10 XL weighs about 2850gr including fork bumpers, rear axle, chainstay protection and shock bolts, the older Session 9.9 weighs about the same. There is a dedicated weight section on mtb-news.de Apart from the weight, which for the most part may be down to basic frame layout or...

This is the very gist of the matter. You really are missing the point by saying that posting facts wouldn't matter. In fact there were several attempts at having a fact based discussion, or even any discussion that's worthwhile with you. You haven't made any real attempt to enable the people to...

woah.. NSMB just dropped a sweet Shock Rate article

Really bump absorption? Aren't they just giving away travel for the expense of reaching a certain sag point, or leverage rate, by inferior measures? Don't get me wrong, I'm still struggling to understand and strike a balance between a dead mid-stroke, occasional bottom-out and harsh first part...

I'm too much of a lazy bum to do my own research, but isn't it the other way around? The positive volume decreases, while the negative volume increases, am I missing something, or did you mean pressure?
