New Whip? New toys for the dependable steed?

Yeah it's pretty awesome, super smooth! For reference the last coil single crown fork I had was a 08 66RC, which felt great back then. After that it has been air sprung single crown forks, but have always had a coil fork for my dh bike. When it came to this build I was either going 38 or Z1...

    Frankenbrakes and brake improvement discussion

So after 3 solid days of park riding and a ton on my local trails, I can honestly say the XT lever paired with the MT7 caliper is amazing. Great stopping power with a ton of modulation!

    Frankenbrakes and brake improvement discussion

Apologies in advance if I've missed this confirmation, but curious about running MT7 calipers with my M8000 XT lever. I ran Magura Gustav and Louise for many years but have acquired a few sets of XT's in recent years. I'm now starting to experience the Shimano inconsistency so many have...

New Whip? New toys for the dependable steed?

Your light looks on spot too, and this whole light scenario is getting to be very much like the majority of bikes these days. Outside of certain brand standards the top brands are pretty great. To answer your question, it does get hot if you have it on high and you're not moving. The Lupine...

New Whip? New toys for the dependable steed?

Haven't posted on this site in a while but figured I'd share this cool new toy I picked up. Lupine Lights Alpha with 7200 lumens. Pics below were taken on a foggy night first ride and I had trouble getting good shots. The camera just does not pick up how far the light travels and how wide the...

    Bike Lights

http://www.lupine.de/eng They can be pricey at the top end, but also have a very good bang for the buck option in the Neo. And the best part about Lupine is that every light and battery are interchangeable. So you can start with an entry level system and upgrade as you go. My personal current...

You know the Germans make good products

Haven't checked this site for a while, but since German bikes are a topic, here are my German bikes. For reference the DH has 62* head angle... both were designed and fabricated by the former builder of Bergwerk and Solid.

    The genius of Apple

You know the headphones that come with the iPhone 4S have a control button that lets you pause, skip to the next track, adjust the volume and let you make/receive phone calls without having to take the phone out of your pocket. Not to mention, it works with voice commands, which I haven't tried...

    Had a close call yesterday.....

Well said, and I've been in a fair amount of up close and personal encounters, and yes, the adrenaline can almost be too much to deal with. But much like racing, you gotta keep a level head. Let the other guys adrenaline/emotions get the best of them.
