Short travel light Trail bike with a 160mm fork?

I've been rocking the Blur 4x with a 36 and it rules for most anything save serious DH. Crank out the fork and it has DH geometry, but crank it down, lock out the shock and instant (albeit low) XC bike. Short chain stays = snappy, fun cornering. Huge gussets keep it worthy of abuse. Hard to find...

toxic sludge and aluminum sourcing for bikes

That is exactly why posted this thread question and couldn't agree more. I read with humour, dismay and eventually disgust many of the posts following. People, we need to take responsibility for ourselves and quit pointing fingers. Throughout history all humans have committed same deadly sins -...

toxic sludge and aluminum sourcing for bikes

If we could only grow carbon fibre bamboo hemp...seriously though, maybe bike companies (or someone) could offer old frame recycling incentives when buying new bikes? Guess it all comes down to $ in the end...

toxic sludge and aluminum sourcing for bikes

Wow, that's sobering. Interesting the hate in this thread for even asking the question. I certainly would support a company that considered the source of their raw material. This is one of the reasons I've bought King headsets before. The argument that airplanes and cars use way more so...

toxic sludge and aluminum sourcing for bikes

Given the potentially catastrophic toxic sludge flood in Hungary I was wondering where most of the aluminum for bikes comes from. Are there companies that give consideration to sourcing aluminum from suppliers with good environmental records?

Squamish steals "Mtn Biking Capital of Canada" from Rossland

"Step back for a sec and ask yourself what you're so upset about, the fact you didn't do anything about it yourself, or the fact that someone else had a mind to beforehand. It always sucks when someone steals you're thunder, but quite often the most annoying aspect of it is that we allow it to...

You're right, and we've never taken it very seriously. Just a bit underhanded...and literally having to change marketing materials etc now.

Squamish steals "Mtn Biking Capital of Canada" from Rossland

Ok, It's always been a bit tongue-in-cheek that Rossland, BC, called itself the "Mountain Biking Capital of Canada" for decades. However, the founder of the Test of Metal recently trademarked the phrase and sent ceast and disest letters to Rossland. Here's the story...

    Shuttle rigs

The rack replaces the tailgate obviously for hanging bikes. Much stronger and provides a bit more room in the bed. The rack mounts on the regular tailgate tabs for easy removal but the weight is on the rail on the bed of the truck. two pins on each rail come out to remove it in minutes. Angle of...
