I have a coil fork that I need to lower the travel by 2". I can put a spacer between negative spring and spring perch then cut 2" off the coil. I could also shorten the spring perch rod 2" and that would leave the coil the same length. Do I need to shorten the spring w/ the reduced travel ( more...
My 2010 Rockshox Domain 318 has a ported rebound damper. Lackluster performance - Anything that can be done to make them work better ? Don't understand why they still employ archaic dampers in modern forks
Any reason, weight aside, why this wouldn't be an excellent rear derailleur for regular trail use ? I currently have a Shimano XT Shadow that started getting sloppy after less than 1 season of use. Want something more durable. Thanks
I had an issue w/ a barking dog and the owners that could care less about their dogs behavior. Police, animal control was a tedious process w/ little results. I should have listened to a freind that had a similar experience - don't say a word to anyone slip the pooch hamburger wrapped rat...
How do you determine the best tire durometer for the given conditions ? I will be riding Northstar @ Tahoe (rocks and dust) . I was looking @ Syncros BHT LW F 50d, R - 55d . Thanks.
Currently running a 22 / 32 dual ring up front. The combo is good for 80% of my riding but I seem to run out of gear on longer faster descents. I don't know if I should go 22/34 or 22/36 ? Which and why ? Thanks.
I have been looking for a *lighter DH tire*. I don't think I need a wire bead and am not sure about casing thickness and if it relates to the amount of plys. I use single ply Kenda Nevegal / BG's for trail use and their casing is thin. I had a set of Maxxis Minions DH's that seemed overkill for...
I have a 160mm travel 08' Turner RFX that i'd like to use a few times this season @ Northstar - no big jumps or hucks just rocks and small drops. I already have a nice coil shock ready for the rear. I was looking @ an older 06' 66 VF 2 & a 09' 55 R . Both have the same size stanchions (35mm)...
For AM use the current crop of 6" forks are great for overall use but for DH I keep thinking i'd have greater margin of use from a bigger frok. I know bigger isn't always better but Northstar is quite unforgiving even if you try to play it safe.
How would a Fox 36 or Lyrik compare to the Super T for DH use @ Northstar ? Those forks are out of my "DH budget* but would probably see more use in the long run.
I have been looking for a cheap fork for DH use. I want to use my Turner RFX this summer @ Norhstar. The bike is currently setup in AM trim. The bike is spec'd around a 540mm a-c height so something in the 550 a-c height range should be fine. I have come across a few older 170mm Super T's and...
