    XXL (62+) bikes

Link? Was talking to Schiers about a disc fork with fender mounts at PressCamp...he seemed excited, but he was also rather imbibed. Mwar.

Dual purpose thread: Compact digital and 35mm "enthusiast" cameras.

Local friend offered me his S95 for dirt cheap, so I jumped on it. Snagging it Monday. The old Sigma DP1s/2s were appealing, but the absolute slowness and inability to try one out locally turned me off. I'm all about manual when I can fiddle with controls, but when I'm on bike and want to snap...

Some coold roadie crap from the formula brake guys

Another big argument for the implementation of discs on road bikes is in relation to heat dissipation and tire mounting. With carbon clinchers, heat buildup can cause rims to fail and beads to let loose on high-speed descents. With tubulars, that same heat softens the glue on the rim/basetape...

Actually, the DP2x or DP1x are both pretty intriguing. I'd sacrifice decent video capability, but IQ is always king in my eyes. Plus, used or refurb'd they seem to drop for around $300. A pill I can swallow. Now...short or long focal length?

This isn't for trailriding - road riding, so space is at a premium (and theoretically, contact with the ground would be kept at a minimum). The P7000 is definitely too large. While I don't wear gloves, ease of operation in a program mode would be key...often the photos I snap are on the fly...

    What's your riding kryptonite???

**** weather? Trainer. Problem is I can't do a lot of workouts on the trainer. THAT'S kryptonite. Also, overcaffeination tends to do weird things to me.

Quite simply put, you can't really pinpoint it unless you're doing an activity that can be measured with a strain gauge (powermeter)...like cycling. Vague estimations abound, and are generally "pretty close", which is really enough for the general populace.

Hey gents, I'm looking for a compact digital camera for shooting during racing and training on road bikes...so ideally jersey-pocket fittable. Reqs: -Small -24mm equivalent wide end -Capable in lower-light circumstances (useable ISO1600 would be ideal) -720p video -Some level of manual...

Oh so wrong. Increase muscle mass by 10%, then use those muscles while achieving cardiovascular output and your power output/kj burn skyrockets. Replace 1/4 to 1/3 of the calories you burn during exercise while exercising to prevent catabolic state. Ride a bike with a powermeter to pinpoint...

road or cross bike for a commuter/weekend warrior?

Probably not what you're looking for, but "right tool for the job" is what's going to make you happiest here. Cross bikes are fine on short pavement jaunts, but for any "real" road riding they tend to suck. The stubby and tall geometry will leave you wanting, especially if you end up riding...

    Fingerbang has been fingerbanged.

The CAS/UCI/Contador wankfest that drew this out made it much harder on the sport than just getting a verdict from the get-go. That said, it was likely residual Clen from a transfusion. Popular drug in the off-season/during aerobic base.

    speakers in cycling helmets

A single headphone in the non-traffic ear does not a rube make. The error is more with the user themselves, generally.
