Im worried im sitting here thinking " looks fine!" and im not normally one for the big jumps.
Still i did just get back from NZ where this goes on in race tracks:
crappy pic, but they love their jumps down there!
I ran a 40 for 1.5years, huge reliablity problems for me I racked up:
1xnew lowers
2xnew stanchions
9x sets of seals
1xnew internals
the only original bits are my crowns axle and top caps pretty much.
No Im not a hack and yes I do look after my bike I just do alot moreriding than...
Sure I read somewhere that steve peat files the pads of his codes down to make em a little less powerful and grabby.
Having tried em I can see the point in doing that even if peaty doesn't actually do it. Maybe I didn't have enough time to get used to them but they did seem overly powerful, I...
Just been scoping out a new helmet for next year and found tld have a new mx lid for 07.
Its significantly more expensive than the standard se (which they are still doing) and the tld website seems pretty unclear on what the exact differences are. I have e-mailed them but i'd rather hear it...
its funny how many people keep suggesting a DHR even after you've said you've got one.
Anyway, thought about a cove shocker? Local to you so lots of good support. Hopefuly should have mine soon so your welcome to a go on a large one rob.
saw you buddies up on the hill today too, i should...
Im really supprised you guys pay so much attention to body position when your riding, I cant say i've ever conciously thought about my body position to any real extent.
Anyway, I rode and raced Hardtail Dh with flats for a season, if that dont teach you how to ride flats and keep those feet...
technique then, i never pump up above 60psi and get them to seat, if not on the first go then the second, abit of pulling about with my fingers and thats it.
Brand new tyres are the worst, if i really cant get one to seat correctly I'll do a run with it unseated, deflate then inflate. thats...
No problems cross threading here.
I did rip a bunch of eyelets out of an 04 ex823, however the wheel would have died anyway in that crash. No problems with my 05 ex823s.
Minor dings still hold air.
Most of the tubeless tyres are the same(ie comp16) or i believe maxxis tubeless are...
my shock was setup for me by fox switzerland (also a turner dealer), i run a 50lb heavier spring than they recommend for my weight.
bottom outs are not a regular occurence for me.
my first 3 dhrs went like most at the shock mount.
finally i resent anyone whos not seen me ride calling me...
Nope didn't mod the swing arm.
Big jump sure, but landed well. The weld to the down tube is dirty so it had been going to a while, I never spotted anything.
My point? im annoyed with turner and everyone likes to see a cracked frame:greedy:
Landed a jump nigh on perfectly, i acutually rode that out on my chaindevice.
Thats turner number 4 for me, i know turner will happily replace it but im gonna sell it i really never want to ride a turner ever...
sram x.o
ea70 bars
thompson x4 stem
aside from that my custom tuned dhx (by suspension center switzerland) Is still the nicest shock i've ridden, i have a standard dhx for spare and the difference is huge, the tuned one is so more controlled.
I presume this rohloff malarky is still gripshift only?
thats about the only thing that puts me off, having with ridden/tried to keep up with nathan rankin if he cant break it then its good enough for me.
