    Good UST wet/muddy DH tire

    The Minion definitely sucks for mud, it packs up and is like a slick. I tracked down some Maxxis wet screams, used Stans No tube sealant and mounted them on UST rims - kick ass. If it is not wet though the wet screams high knobs definitely fold a lot in dry conditions though.

    Weight loss the cheap way?

    Keep the wheels but get rid of the tubes by running Stan's no tubes. Set up right they work great. also will have fewer pinchflats. It is simple to do and I have done it to all my scoots. I feel the tires accelerate quicker as well.

    Bullit can do everything depending on how you build it up. I use my for trail riding and urban. PM me if you want to try my Bullit or Intense 5.5 EVP since I am right around the corner from you in Clarendon.

    Reverse spring Derraileurs

    Shimano supposedly went to this to make the rear and front deraileur work the same. Like it on my trail bike but not on my DH rig, I run older XTR on that.

    Shimano XT come in 24 front disc as well. It came stock on my wife's Giant NRS1 laced to a Mavic 819.

    Wheelset choice: 823 + DT Hugi vs 823 + Hadley

    I have two bikes with Hadleys laced to 823s. They rule! Don't know about the DT hubs but I plan on never running anything but Hadley's. As for running tubes with them not a problem just don't put a rim strip in there as it is unneccesary.
