Any Idea what could be causing this noise?

I've pulled BB's out in the past for them to feel smooth as silk yet that can easily betray a cracked race or ball (and has done so very effectively for me - cue lots of cursing).

    pressing headset cups with grease

Grease is for moving parts people. If you'resticking a headset, BB or anything else like that into a frame, you want to be using an anti-seize compound like copperslip.

    brembos....cool

The lever feel is superb. Personally I find it far better than i do with shimano which always feel very sticky and plasticky. There is a very positive contact on the brembo initially followed by a lot of modulation. Once you have ridden a set extensively then come back and give a detailed...

There should be a test on the Hope Moto with the vented rotors in the next 2 or 3 weeks too. I have to admit to having never been too enamoured with hope as they seem to be an entirely hit and miss affair. Having run the the original C2's, DH4's when introduced at £250 an end and then the...

Hmm, I guess I better introduce myself as the writer of that D-W review. Thanks for that comment, sets the day off beautifully! A review is not necessarily bad because you disagree with what it says. At what point did I say that the hardware was horrible? I would rather have that type of...

    Rotec RL9, PDC 825, or Canfield F1

I thought that I would just pop up here with my views. Yes, I may be a trifle biased (UK Team Leader) but after racing for 9 years and currently riding Expert DH in the UK and Europe I have certainly had the oppertunity to ride a fair number of bikes on a large variety of courses. My Rotec...

    Intesne M1 Questions

Bollox, its a race frame and as such is built to a weight. Compared to how many are made the failure rate is average compared to many other manufacturers.

    Intesne M1 Questions

Yeah, thats about right. I would argue the headtube though. The headtubes with the 1" thick bands top and bottom don't seem as susseptible to cracking (although im open to correction on this). The Seatstays are the biggest concern although they are still available and relatively cheap to buy...
