Just out of curiosity, wouldn't the stiffening link do more if it were put closer to where the shock is mounted and based from the seat tube? Seems like there is more torsional flex occuring there, rather than near the bb. Or was it just a minute difference and that was the easier location?

I've never smoked a cig, but answered yes because cigars and hookah are great ways to meet new people at parties. Plus they lack most of the harmful ingredients and aren't that addictive.
Just out of curiosity, why the choice of a 50 mx shock and not just a burlier mountain bike shock? Is it because it's nearly unbreakable, or is there another reason ? I would think that there would be a huge weight difference, but I could be wrong. I've been working on my own design in CAD...
I would say it depends on how much stuff you plan to carry. I own the havoc, and it works great for me because I usually don't where too many pads, and I tend to just leave them on even when climbing. The Nomad is more for someone who has alot more pads to hike up also. The nomad seemed...
I had the same problem with my 04, well sort of. Mine leaked like a bad monkey after I had the rebound rod replaced, so I had a different mechanic tear it down and we found that it was missing an o-ring inside the cartridge. The oil leaked less, but once I swapped the upper ones to a slightly...
You may want to check out the DK Xenia, it's a single speed, chromoly frame with a mix of bmx components that can take a beating. For the three weeks I had mine I was in love with it, the fork isn't great, but it's burly.

The flex goes away when you start going thorugh the travel, which has been posted many times on this board, but even the flex that is there is hardly noticable. Anyone know about how much it costs to get the internals replaced? I had a rebound rod break in the middle of the cartridge, and the...
I've got my '04, even with it's problems, but the shiver was/is a great fork to ride. I've never felt anything smoother or more adjustable, now only if mine didn't lose so much oil!
My DK Xenia was just stolen in Corvallis, they cut the lock with a set of bolt cutters on friday. It was in the back corner surrounded by 40 other bikes. So if you see one with an orange OSU sticker at the bottom of the seat tube, PM me.
The gigapipe DH from truvativ is a great BB. I've had mine on my BB7 for a year and a half and it still hasn't creaked once, right now it's 51$ on jensonusa.com. You might want to look at FSA also, but I don't really know anything about there BB stuff.
