i didnt meant to say its not high quality carbon, just that its strange that they offer a 7k bike with a very (very) poor spec and dont atleast offer the customer the best materials they have.
if you look at the spec btw, its as offered on +- 4k alu bikes with a 2.5k frame included - so that...
the 10k for the sworks may be justified by the fact its a "replica" and only 250 will be made.you know, for people that actually care for this stuff than you could say it logical and its a chance to own ....
however, 7k for the demo 1 model is ridicules :
-lower quality carbon front triangle...
this frame is supposed to weigh 10.5 lbs with shock. the new sworks demo carbon weighs 10.2 lbs with with shock so not so bad there.
chainstay length is 17.5 and is part of the bike's geo and not its defining figure.the old model could jump quite well and this one is a tad shorter.
the linkage...
its amazing that no evil customer (maybe i missed them on 63 pages) complain here ,but people that aren't affected by the situation are calling names !?
why do you even care ? if replacement frames will turn out eventually, allot of members here will need to hide for some time :)
from my experience they are heavy, the engagment is poor and they need constant attention when riding hard or in poor conditions.i guess there is a reason why they are the only (high end) manufacturer using it.
can i ask why ? just another new standard in industry with too many ones !
current bars and stems are plenty stiff (imho) and the weights are nothing ground breaking (other than the direct mount maybe).if this bigger diameter resulted in much lighter bars than i see the logic, but when its...
its amazing how much down did marz fall when info like that almost didn't come to anyone's attention.
imagine if Fox or RS will issue a statement like that ???
does anyone know some real numbers (for costs) involved in making carbon frames ? are molds really that expensive ? what do you do if you want to make changes to the prototype ? ...
(for companies that actually do r&d for their frames and not catalog frame costs)
