just to clear up this headtube issue guys, it was a typo. It is a standard tapered head tube (1.5 lower 1 1/8 Upper). Giant was the first to do this on a MTB years ago when the glory first came out (2006?). It's been called overdrive for a marketing term.
It's no different than the headtube...
Jeff Lenosky also got his brand new Saint/Fox equipped Glory stolen, when he was riding with his son. He walked in to go to the bathroom and came out to having no bike. Not cool.
It was, but the release date was pushed back to make the product the best it could be. It was PREMIERED last night in Scotland at the Ft. William WC.
I would imagine Pinkbike would have copies in 2 weeks?
I remember when all the fanboys find reasons to hate on anything, or anyone that was different...His shoes are blue, he has tattoos, and he has a mustache! How dare he!?
Rad to see a podium sweep!
How about the manchild?! I know it's pages late...but that kid is out of hand!
What are these bikes coming in at HA wise in y'alls hands? Some of them photo really slack, and others not so slack (with similair looking...key word looking) fork heights.
Anyone take an angle finder and tape to their bike yet? Or just trust that because Brendog gets nasty as hell on this...
Oh I'll be around, but I wont be front and center wrenching and the catching brunt of jokes. I should make it to a few events where you can still get your jabs in though...
Agreed Rando is one of the nicest guys to race a bike, he is still going to be on Giant bikes through Giant Australia the last I checked.
Rando went back to Aus to pursue a normal life, he's been racing on the "circuit" for well over 10 years. He is still going to be involved with the sport...
Now the answers to your questions.... Don't be shocked when these boys kill it, and kick sand in some eyes on the playground this year.

Just like you said in your answer above. Both items (shifter and der) have to be 10spd for these to work. So there really isn't a way to fool the system, that I'm aware of yet.
That should be fine. As long as it's a 10 spd der. I was under the impression that 10 spd shifter and 9 spd der isn't compatible. But any 10spd shifter should work with any 10 spd der.
I don't want to be the opininionated guy in here....But all 2011 Giants(Glorys) should be arriving in shops now if they aren't there already. So you shouldnt hear the 2 weeks excuse.
That was spot on.
Also some of the creases you see in there are from individual pieces of carbon, that are cut and layered in the mold to tune the stiffness, and ride characteristics of the bike. Carbon bikes are not made from small quantity large cut pieces. Most bikes have smaller...
I wanted the twin turbo V6, easy to upgrade tune, and have a sleeper that could munch most performance cars, and have a bike in the back at the same time.
New ones are sick as well...we'll see. I like to drool over them
