Jeez people, where's the stoke? Turn off your computer, go grab a damn shovel and lend a hand.
The folks down in BD have done it right, they got permission to build from the land owner, and they're building trails for multiple skill levels. We need many styles of trails in many locations...
I've got a few rides on the brand new (not yet released?) Bontrager FR4. Don't laugh, they're really stepping up their game. I got them at the Evergreen Holiday Party auction, and talked a bit to the local Trek rep about them.
I was skeptical, but they're a really nice single-ply for...
Folks, there is a company called Elastic Labs that is filming a documentary
about urban mountain bike parks. They're featuring Colonnade and also
Highbridge Park in New York City.
We need to make sure there's plenty of riders on hand Saturday, especially
families and kids!
If you'd like...
Maybe it's shaped like a rainbow so someone painted it like a rainbow. Or maybe it's located in Hawaii. Or maybe someone had a bunch of extra paint they wanted to get rid of (which I think is actually the real story).
But either way, thanks for the laugh.
With all the refurb work on I-5 over the next 15 months, you think WashDOT is going to fix the leaks in the expansion joints? That would be nice, really nice.
Hell yeah! Sign me up for a poster. This poster and the rad Evergreen poster just made are going to be put on my work bench surface and covered with clear epoxy to make the most badass workbench in history. This idea would also make a killer retail counter for local shops.
Glad you're doing ok, Kim.
Definitely listen to your PT. I've had a deep thigh bruise from auguring into a rock on Fromme and the doc was worried about the muscle calcifying and growing weird little bone fragments. I needed to be massaged out, which hurt like a biatch. Our bodies can act...
From the BBTC home page:
"For the past three years, mountain bikers had access to the Middle Fork Snoqualmie River trail on a trial basis. We've been informed by the Forest Service that that access has now become permanent! This is great news. Bikers will still be restricted to odd days only...
As many of you know, BBTC is designing a new mountain bike park at Duthie Hill. We need you to take our quick survey and let us know what kinds of trails you want. This will help us design the best possible park.
Detailed info about Duthie Hill can be found on BBTC's Trail Guide. The site...
You won't find much mud up there, just lots of water when it's raining. Brian and the BBTC trail crews have done a great job of armoring the tread and diverting the flow of water off the trail (it's still wet, it just flows across the trail now, rather than down it). Still more to to, but it's...
Tiger Mountain's mountain bike trails always open on April 15, and despite the snow, will be open on time this year. I confirmed this with DNR today.
DNR reports 6" of snow on the Preston, and the connector trail from the upper parking lot is closed until the bridge can be replaced.
Brian...
Lots of good Sherlocking here. Impressive to know that you guys keep your trusty magnifying glass at the ready. Regardless of who it is, I'm stoked to see the PNW once again becoming a hotbed for the mountain bike industry. This is good news for all of us who live in WA, or hell, even...
