I have no interest in these but man, some of you need to at least read what was posted.
These are not hard or plastic - clearly states they are rubber, you heat it during molding and then it "hardens" to its permanent shape. Does not mean its hard or plastic.
These are also not replacements...
The frame typically sells (used) on RM, eBay, PB for $1200-1600.
Seller had been attempting to sell this for $1500 OBO for several months.
I'm still leaning towards option "A" (been stewing over this for a week), however, the better man in me may end up going with option "C".
Until seller...
If the chainstay is below center of your BB, you need wide. I believe the backplate for the 40t is bigger.
If you're only running 36T max than there's no worries.
Hardly a sucker.
Frame has been shipped, arriving today.
Seller is expecting the full $100. I would be willing to pay the $50 and meet him half way but the more I think about it the more pissed off I am because again:
-shipping was not discussed during deal
-seller tried to be...
Time to put on some hypothetical shoes...
-Frame posted for sale here on RM for $1500 or best offer
-You offer full $1500
-Ad does not mention anything about shipping
-Seller mentions he cant ship for two weeks
-Transaction is agreed upon and paid for in full
-Seller has cash in hand for...
Who said anything about aluminum? It says "alloy" bolts. (ie.. a mixture of two or more metals)
(in reference to Seb's comment about the Straightline stem)
So does anyone want to explain why there is an almost 10g difference shown here? I could see a few grams difference...
- Brian got his scale with the Ridemonkey weight-tune? (I kid, I kid...)
- Missing one bolt during the measurement? (I only spot 3 in the pic)
- Ti bolts (Brian says no)
- Was...
It all comes down to your bike, BB height, your prefs, etc...
I run the .75" rise and like them. I've been migrating from 2" rise bars to lower and lower bars. Mainly because BB heights are getting lower than they were 5 years ago.
That about the only reason or advice I can offer as to why...
No offense taken and I never meant to imply anything about my lack of skills. But you did start things off with a "local trails" comment as if you thought I was "dh'ing" in woods on an XC trail and you then threw in the "world cup" comment as if YOU were the one out there on WC courses...
First, I don't ride local "trails" or whatever you're hinting at. My home mountain is the host of the biggest DH event in the North America.
Oh really? I guess the only expectations were a bike to succeed the M3? The M6 has not lived up to anything. It is still a bike with bad geo and...
Dont you mean "that's what the race teams with money to spare want to be seen racing" ?
There are way more people riding Socom's than M6's. The M6 has never lived up to the M3 and let alone M1.
????
Anyway........
2.5 SuperTackys will hold up fine. I still have the same pair since '03. Granted they've only seen 6 seasons with 2-3 rides each year since then, the knobs still look almost new. If you're riding in wet weather/mud, you wont be wearing them down too fast.
