here's the deal folks. just secured a new job, looking to blow my first paycheck on a nice road bike. i'm tired of borrowing friends' rides...
i've read excellent things about the cannondale six13 and have riden an IF and loved it...
budget is around 2k-3k...
suggestions?
wow... all i can say... i know i didn't know him half as well as mst of you guys, but he always seemed likt a great guy here in the forums... god bless...
i've heard that the 19in stinkys came from a bad batch of aluminum and are prone to catostrophic headtube failure. thats probably how you found it so cheap. i like the new huffy downhill bike myself, and with all the money you'll save, you can buy some cards to clothespin to the spokes.
and the dude on the phone didn't know about ridemonkey :dancing: .
i had called to see if they had any lance bracelets left, cause i had seen them mentioned here. you guys working up there need to educate the young man. :dancing:
it *is* a good tuesday morning. excellent ride last night, the weather is ridiculously nice. one job offer yesterday and two more interviews yet today... job=money=bike stuff. :thumb:
if anyone has an extra, or a few, that they want to sell...? i've been trying to get some for my father, but all the shops in dc are sold out. and i don't feel like waiting for backorder...
email me at stevebeam@gmail.com - we could do paypal or something?
wait a second... you all work at city bikes? i just had my cannondale in there about three weeks ago cause i was gonna get the fork rebuilt... and then got lazy and haven't had the time to get back...
i need new cables...
why not try to find a local bike shop that can work with you to find a bike to suit your needs. buying a bike online is useless unless you know EXACTLY what you want, and it sounds like you're a million miles from that...
in my opinion, you ought to get a hardtail. it doesnt sound like you're...
name's steve
live in washington dc, one block from the national cathedral. i LOVE the area, i tag along for the urban rides down here (haven't been in a while though...). great riding out in VA and MD.
