I loved my Yakuza Kumicho that I rode last year. Excellent bike for the price.
The Yakuza seems to be all the rage. I used to not get blogs hits about the Yakuza but since I sold mine (quit DH racing) last fall I get a couple hits a day from all over the world of people searching on Yakuzas.
USAA pretty much rocks. But from what I understand, almost all renter's insurance is pretty cheap.
Be sure to get renter's insurance. The cool thing is that it also seems to come with personal liability insurance, so say you lean on some guy's Harley and it falls over and gets a little...
When I first started mountain biking I rode a fully rigid singlespeed with a fat DH tire in front and probably a freeride tire in the back. It was a great way to learn how to pick lines and so forth. Although I took that thing dirt jumping and so forth... and my wrists were jacked up for over a...
Yep, except it doesn't come with the deity bar.
It pains me to sell the bike, but realistically, I never get to downhill anymore. I only had a chance to ride three times this season--once locally, once at a race that it totally poured at (so I didn't race because I hadn't practiced enough to...
It rides really nice. Really smooth. My previous bike was a Cannondale Gemini 900 with a DH setup. Once I got the Yakuza, I wouldn't even get on the Gemini anymore.
I rode the most at Shaums March's bike camp at Snowshoe, WV, in August. Had a blast. Glad I got the bike.
Well, I never got to post my, "Holy crap! My new downhill bike is here!" post and show pics when I got it earlier this year because I was too busy... but I know it's almost a rite of passage here at Ridemonkey, and I think I deserve it, after posting over 500 posts about other stuff.
So here...
Just wondering what other sports/athletic activities/regimens (besides sex) do people on this forum do besides biking? I know there's tons of stuff around here to do... especially near D.C. Anyone?
The songs online right now are mostly done with loops I bought (some came with this Sony program I have--others I bought a la carte--they run about $5 per loop/sound effect!)
The last two songs are less detailed, and here's why: The last two songs, "Labor Day Kitchen," and "This Song May...
Glad to hear it's good. I'm going to get it when I get Netflix (I'm kinda broke right now.)
Daniel played bass on Verbena's album, "Souls for Sale"--and his bass playing and the whole album are excellent. Verbena asked me to audition for them later on, and it was quite an honor to be even...
Thanks for listening! Yep, I wrote "Arlan," because that crash had a big impact on me as a kid. I was in 2nd grade. My dad came home from work very late that night, due to the traffic and the subway/Metro train accident (which was unrelated but killed three people half-an-hour after the plane...
Sorry to spam, but we like to share around here, don't we?
If you think you'd be interested in some creepy ambient/big beat/electronica, please check out my new music project, Mansard.
Mansard is inspired by grey mansard roofs, lone chimneys, toppling columns, and other symbols of decaying...
Hmmm, the article didn't mention the Secret Service nor did it mention my state... but I wouldn't be surprised if it had to do with drug money or money laundering.
The Washington Post's mini-paper (condensed version for Metro train riders/bus riders), Express, highlighted my blog entry about...
The U.S. Secret Service busted an apartment across the hall from mine this morning at 5:45 a.m. There's nothing like hearing, "POLICE!!!!!! SEARCH WARRANT!!! POLICE!!! SEARCH WARRANT!!!!!!!" that early in the a.m. Of course, I couldn't get back to sleep, since at the time I had no idea what the...
"I can't find this project director in The Computer."
(It's a database, not The Computer.)
"I can't talk about that right now. One thing at a time. You know I have A.D.D."
"Ya'll need to get up offa your two dollars and contribute for birthday cake. I don't care if you eat cake or not!"
