    Any Manhattan Monkies?

College starts next week, so it's time for me to find new riding buddies! I know there's a solid riding community in Brooklyn, but are there many riders in Manhattan? I'm hoping there are some locals so I won't have to take an hour long train ride to go riding :monkey: !

    Please help with Sprocket/chainwheel

I've never used it, but it looks ok. Again, I can't tell if it's 22mm or 19mm, so I'd call before ordering. I can't seem to find the adapter on danscomp either.

    Please help with Sprocket/chainwheel

I thought I saw a few on Danscomp, so I checked it out. Here's one: Kink OG Chainwheel It's not too expensive. It doesn't say that it's for 19mm, but it looks like it. I guess you can call them, because if it's for 22mm, you can get an adaptor (shim) that should only be a few bucks. If...

Where to get unprotected digital music legally?

www.allofmp3.com is probably the only place. It depends how you care to think of it, but AllOfMP3 may not be what you desire. If you're looking for a service that won't land you in a court room, it should do the trick. If you're looking for a way to support your favorite artists when you buy...

    You gotta breathe man!!!

When I did swim team I would hyperventilate for 20-30 sec before my run to get an edge over my asthma. I've never done it for biking, but I know of one climb that's perfectly set up for me to try!

    weekend ride reports

I rode some trails in Germantown, MD on Saturday. It was my first real ride this year, and it was great. I think I tweaked my rear derailleur, but it'll do for now. The trails are looking good this year. MORE has really got its act together.

    Does anyone like lima beans?

One of the Manischewitz soup mixes has lima beans and it's really good. I can't remember which one, but it comes in a long, clear thin plastic bag. Toss in some Kielbasa, cook for a few hours, and life is good.

    loose head set!!!!!

I'm a little confused about your question. It sounds like you can't assemble it properly, so here's a diagram of a typical headset, courtesy of FSA. As for tightening everything, tighten the starnut until it's tight but the headset spins freely, then tighten your stem bolts.

    build me a computer

You've got a ton of good suggestions for parts here, but as for the assembly, I have a suggestion. A friend of mine is running a small, independent computer company. If you're interested, I could get you some contact info for him. He's got a website, but he's also great on the phone. He will get...

Shimano disk brake hub spline to ISO adapters

Be aware that they're not for Saint hubs because Saint uses a different centerlock standard than the rest of the Shimano stuff.

whistler mtn bike park on pubic tv

I caught that too. I went to get a drink of water and saw some dude in a Zoo York shirt walking in Vancouver. I don't think he was the one doing that jump at Whistler. Something seemed odd...

    Shure EC2 Headphones

I don't have Shures, but you might want to look into Etymotic headphones. The ER-6 model is very similar to the Shure EC2 buds. eBay has the good deals on Etys too! I own a pair of the Ety ER4s, and I absolutely love them. On another note, I'd rethink riding with noise isolating...

    New Grips

I've done rubbing alcohol and I've done compressed air, but I keep finding that Clean Streak is the best. If you don't know, it's an alcohol based cleaner. It comes in an aerosol bottle, so you don't have to fumble around with the big bottles of rubbing alcohol. It dries almost as fast, and it...

    New computer coming...

Sounds like a sweet setup. This summer I'll be building a new box as well. I was considering the A8N-SLI and dual 6600GTs, but I've decided that I'll probably save a bit of cash and go with a non-SLI board and a single 6800GT. I've heard too many horror stories about people who drop the cash...
