Base layer: merino wool or UA Heat Gear?

I prefer a short sleeve base layer 'cause of arm warmers. I can push them down or just take them off, whereas with a long sleeve base layer, I can only push them up.

Base layer: merino wool or UA Heat Gear?

Not this merino wool. Thin as any UA performance gear and apparently wicks extremely well.

Base layer: merino wool or UA Heat Gear?

Looking for the best bang for my buck in a short sleeve base layer; merino wool or a UA Heat Gear T? The Hincapie merino wool shirt I'm looking it is $70 while a UA Heat Gear shirt is $30. Thoughts/experiences? -EGS

    Question for the mods/admin

How do you delete pictures in your File Upload Manager? The quota is rather small, 1.91 MB, and I need to get rid of previous pics to add some new ones. Don't see a delete option, and it is not mentioned in the FAQ on hot to deal with attachments/pictures. Thx, -EGS

Helmet go crash, whack, crack! Q - Poc Trabec?

Hey Man - what size POC did you go with, and what is your hat size? I don't wanna fool with returns, etc., if I don't haveta. I'm a 7 5/8" and the Giro Hex was a L, I believe... Peas, -EGS

Helmet go crash, whack, crack! Q - Poc Trabec?

Therein lies the problem - no one carries them around here, so it would be trial-and-error to purchase one, huh?

Helmet choices. Which would you choose out of these 4?

I can't say which of those offers the best protection, but I can tell you right now that the Giro Hex saved my life, or at least saved me from a life of vegetable-ism. Per my previous post, I slammed HARD square on my head Saturday and the Hex took the punishment, saving my ass. Split in two...

Helmet go crash, whack, crack! Q - Poc Trabec?

The shoulder, radial-head and blood were the same incident. Yeah, I was trying to scout the flow trail out at a leisurely pace, and gravity being what it is, pulled me hard down the table jump into the incline b4 the step up. I heard Howard Cossell saying "DOWN GOES GUIDO! DOWN GOES GUIDO!"

    First serious crash...ever

Oh we're by far not the only to to auger on that spot of the run, believe me. But the LBC doesn't want to hear anything but how great the trail is...and for the jack they spent, who can blame them. Actually, it is nice, but the step-up is a tad extreme IMO. FYI, it was designed by Progressive...

Separated shoulder + fractured radial head = percocet for breakfast, lunch and dinner for the next week or so!

    First serious crash...ever

I've been riding XC on and off for about 15 years now, and yesterday I stepped out of my comfort zone and onto a flow trail my LBC just built at Oak Mountain State Park. If you haven't heard of Oak Mountain in Pelham, AL (just south of Birmingham), you will soon - the LBC, B.U.M.P. (Birmingham...

Helmet go crash, whack, crack! Q - Poc Trabec?

So my local trail, Oak Mountain State Park just had a bitchin new flow trail built...we call it MoFlow. It's pretty intense, and I ate **** about 1/4 mile into it yesterday separating my shoulder and absolutely mangling my helmet on impact with the ground. While the helmet (Giro Hex) did...

    Anyone recognize this brand?

I've had these pants for about ten years now and I really like 'em. All tags or text indicating what brand they are are long gone. All I have to go on is the logo; pictures attached. Any idea what brand they are? -EGS
