We ended up just going out there with some semi decent directions and maps. It took us a while to figure out where the top of Headley's was then we shuttled it 3 or 4 times. We met some locals at the bottom who offered to show us to the top of beehive and we rode that once before it got dark...
They sell those maps all over the place, pretty much any outdoors store. Let us know if you want to ride. We will mostly be doing the Brevard area stuff but venturing to new trails a couple of days.
I figure that if we can get some GPS tracks loaded onto our GPS we should be OK.
Hey All,
A group of us from FL are coming up for a week of riding the 20th-26th or so. We are staying at my Dad's in Hendersonville but are going to take a trip up to Wilson's for a day because we have never ridden there.
I have found some GPS tracks for Headley, Raspberry, Greentown and...
Yeah I know, I've taken 3 or 4 trips up there on these nevegals and never had an issue, but I just want to try something new:biggrin:
I think I might get a Kenda Excavator Sticky and run it just on shuttle days.
Pisgah stuff mostly probably. Pilot, Black Mountain, maybe Farlow, Butter Gap, Whatever Else. Shuttleable stuff mostly prob.
Wilson's too. We ahven't ridden there yet but we are planning on at least a day. Looking at headley, beehive, greentown, whatever else.
Kitsuma prob too since we...
We are going to NC to ride in a couple of weeks and I was throwing around the idea of putting on a bigger tire on the front of my bike. Right now I have a 2.35 Nevegal up there. I was thinking something more like a 2.5-2.7, but closer to the 2.5. I was wondering if you guys had any...
Do they have a website? Even a crappy one?
Has he gone to the local bike shops to put up some big fliers on their bulletin boards? Seems like some advertising might help. Especially for the out of state crews. What if he emailed a flier to stores all over the south? I'm sure more would...
I was referring to the industry as a whole. I'm not talking about cheap entry level stuff here. Even though a lot of that is done by hand too.
And not all of Trek/Fisher high end is carbon.
I work for a Trek dealer now, and as far as I'm aware everything made in the USA is done by hand. As is most of the high end overseas stuff.
Pretty much all higher end MTBs are done by hand. There isn't enough volume to justify spending the capital to set up a robotic welder with all of the...
Yeah that thread got lame quick. I mean I hate to say it. But Asheville is full of people like that, might as well ignore them.
*No offense to anyone from Asheville that's not all granola-ed out*
